Age grade Matildas teams thread

Two changes for the Young Matildas in the 69th minute. Daisy Brown and Poppy O'Keeffe come on for Skye Halmarick and Emma Dundas respectively.

Two more changes for the Young Matildas. Amelia Cassar comes on in the 79th minute for Zara Kruger, as does Sienna Dale for Peta Trimis.

Daisy Brown scores in the 86th minute to pull a goal back for the Young Matildas and make the score 5-2. Avaani Prakash with the assist to add to her goal today.

Full time at the Nonthaburi Stadium, with the Young Matildas losing 5-2 to Japan in their last group C match and conceding their first goals of the campaign to finish the group stage with a record of two wins and one loss on six points. We finish second in the group and advance to the quarterfinals where we'll play the winners of group B, either North Korea or South Korea depending on how their match pans out.

Prakash is my Matildas player of the match.
We had absolutely no answer to Japan’s speed and quickness on the ball.
Agree that we had no answer to Japan's pace and quickness on the ball, with Avaani Prakash one of the better Young Matildas players on ground today, getting a goal and assist.

Need to give her a cap. If she’s good we need to lock her in. Though imagine a Fiji side with her and Grace Kuilamu.

Can you name a player who had as good a game.
Shelby McMahon and Alexia Apostolakis both had better pass accuracy rates compared to Avaani Prakash, and defensively had more of an impact with nine tackles and three clearances between them as opposed to her two tackles and no clearances. Skye Halmarick also created a chance, had a shot on target and assist, and still leads the race for the Golden Boot outright even after failing to find the back of the net.

I can’t imagine she’d choose Fiji over Australia.😁
You’d think so but if we leave them both in the dark there’s a chance. She’s not eligible for India as she’s Indo-Fijian and Indo-Fijians go back multiple generations.

Young Matildas confirmed to be facing defending champions North Korea in the under-20 Women's Asian Cup quarterfinals after they ran out 5-0 winners over South Korea in their last group B match to top the group, with the quarterfinal to be played on Sunday at 8pm local time. The result also means that we'll face either South Korea or hosts Thailand in the semi-finals.

You’re clutching at straws, Prakash is not a defender so that rules out any comparison there and Halmarick creating A chance, having a shot on target and leading the golden boot race have absolutely no comparison to Prakash’s work rate up front.

I’m not having a go at any player as Japan was far too good for our girls but sometimes it’s better to take off the rose coloured glasses. 👍
