AFL thread

Had the game on google search to keep tabs on it and couldn't believe my eyes when I checked back later. What a third quarter.

I'm abroad and don't follow AFL pages but my algorithm and what is on the sport news home pages I frequent really doesn't have much about AFL. I wasn't even aware the season was starting.

If Carlton end up capitulating like they did on opening day for most of the season then there's no way they're making finals this year.

Fox Footy does have a subscription for overseas countries.

WatchAFL has been a thing for overseas countries for a while.

While on the topic of Fox Footy is it just me or did Matt Hill call the game like he normally would a major horse race?

For a while there I believed he thought he was calling the Melbourne Cup at times last night.

A bit harsh in fairness, they'd won 2 premierships in that 40 years and made 5 Grand Finals.
Well, it did say most haha.
Those premierships were split by almost 10 years, and most of the 30 years since the last one have been spent wallowing away

They've never recovered from the penalty they copped for the salary cap rorting saga that saw them cop a million dollar fine and being kicked out of the 2002 draft.

That's some serious cope there.

40,372 in a 48,000 seat stadium in a non-Aussie Rules city is shite?

I've seen some hot takes in here but that's up there with some of the doozies.
It was empty when I said that comment and filled up nicely sharky
