Adelaide United thread

Very interested to see how Brazete develops.

His final ball and decision-making can be frustrating at times, and he probably still needs to improve the defensive side of his game. But when he's running one-on-one at defenders, he's the sort of player that gets you on the edge of your seat.

The Reds' formation should suit him a lot better than the one we played last year.

Kind of player who turns into a star or an absolute flop. Hope he succeeds as we don't produce many players like him.

It's sad you don't get anyone talking about the line up or tactics. Then Paramount or whoever has a boring pre match where they all smile. It's a big match where's the passion!!

Back in the day we used to beat Viet teams by 3 or 4 goals; now they are way superior to us.

Vietnam have been on the up as a football country for several years now, I warned alot of people a good 5 years back that vietnam and thailand have been pouring money into football (inparticular youth development) for the better part of a decade now.

They arent the easy beats anymore in international as well as club football in asia.

In relation to last night, I thought Adelaide played quite well, without the end product (which is something that has been a problem this pre season so far)

Don't stress too much though, the club are actively still looking at making 2 more signings - im aware they've been offered a couple of VISA strikers and are also mulling over a right winger as well.

Yesterday's final score should ensure that Apl must feel embarrassed. Unfortunately they don't & we andorse them.

Yeah... sure. They will probably arrive a week before the A League kicks off, and take six weeks to get fit.
Or they will be 35 year old Brazilian second division players.

I cant guarantee or promise if these 2 players will eventuate, AU have a very tight budget

Its a tricky one because the APL are crippled by the broadcast deal.

Financially the clubs cant compete with alot of the asian leagues, even vietnam.

For arguments sake mauk is on mid to high 6 figures a season, AU could not afford to pay that this season

I get why given the state of the league but fans are fed up.

Yes we get we can’t outspend the eastern states but we need to have some ambition.

Fans need to be promised success or hope for future success and whilst we have had hope in the past, we now have neither. Selling kids and not attempting to win anything isn’t acceptable to most fans.
