To be fair the goal keeper made a rookie error by not catching a ball straight towards him so the mariners shouldn't conceded that goal regardless but they did well against an J-league side in any case.

Though to be fair to Paull he did realise the threat and tried to stop the striker.A young defender and a very young keeper made mistakes which goes with the territory of their lack of experience.
