A-League Women/Matildas transfers and delistings

Madison McComasky is headed to Durham ahead of WSL 2 season 2026-27 getting underway, where she'll become teammates with Rachel Lowe. She's been assigned the number 4 jersey but it's not known how long she'll be under contract at the side for yet.

Nice!!! Hope she plays this time, if not come home.

Cortnee Vine is returning to the A-League Women after being delisted by North Carolina Courage as she makes the move to Melbourne City ahead of Dub season 2026-27, where she'll be under contract for the entirety of this upcoming season.

Hope she manages more than the few games she played in the USA.

Can’t believe she did this. Moving to a club she fought against for titles, only to join them once they got better and we got weaker.

She will but to be honest her squad spot will be tough to get back given we’ve just sent so many players out to Europe (so if they’re getting consistent minutes and playing well they’ll jump her in the queue).

Surely a sign of financial issues at Roar Women.
It’s for her wife’s family, who live in NZ. The club recorded an emotional video of her thanking the club and the fans, stressing multiple times she’s only leaving cause she has to (being a mum of two and married to a Kiwi) and crying after they announced her number (13) would be retired.

As for the Roar’s financial situation, this has nothing to do with it but it’s in the shitter. It’s so bizarre that a professional football club could miss out on up to $7 million all for a quick cash grab of about $1 million (talking about Lucas Herrington).

Hmm. 😏

Morgan Aquino is now clubless after having been delisted by DC Power at the conclusion of USL Super League season 2025-26 upon falling out of contract.

Back to the A-League?

That’s probably a good idea as US leagues are coming to a close and UK/European clubs would have filled their squads.
Playing in the ALM will keep her front and centre with the Matildas coaching staff.
Even if Morgan Aquino were to return to the Dub there's no guarantee that she would be named to the Matildas playing list though.

Of course not but she has been called up a few times to camps and with the dearth of keepers available for Matildas selection she will playing for a berth right under the noses of Joe and Co.
Teagan Micah has returned to training though and there are plenty of keepers in contention for Matildas callups from either the Dub or Tillies farm system like Courtney Newbon and Ilona Melegh.

Wonder if Jada Whyman will do the same. She’s gotta stop getting injured though.
