UP THE SKY BLUES! Not our best performance but three points are three points!

Sign Up Now!Reported crowd at Parramatta was 4,652, looked a hellava lot more than that.
For a league, i think it might. I thought it was one of their better crowds this season. Is that the lowest ever non Covid?
ooo that's a touchy subject over hahah , it comes up every 3-4 years we've had so many referendums on itNah we aren't like those Seppos.
However I would kindly ask WA to get daylight savings. Aussie games at early European times doesn't make sense.
Yeah, pretty ugly. Two counter-attacking teams sometimes produce this. Wanderers a bit more adventurous given they were the home team. I'm glad we're getting results but it hasn't been easy on the eye. I am concerned the results will fall away once Herrington goes. Bility is a big drop in level. If that happens, Valkanis' position will start to come under scrutiny given that we're not entertaining either. I actually was a little surprised we sacked Zads as performances were improving at the end of last season and I thought the football was a slightly better watch than the current fare.A lacklustre game by Roar for 60+ minutes I am afraid.
We seem to be playing more and more defensively with each passing game, although I expected this to be a hard fought struggle game beforehand.
Herrington got nutmegged by a brilliant touch from Kraev to advance into the box, with Klein covering well to stop anything further - but it doesn't count against Herrington. Just a real unexpected quality touch by Kraev. The goal line clearance by Herrington off a Kraev header more than balanced that out.
The last 10-15 minutes of the game Wanderers peppered the Roar goal mouth - clearly capable of building an attack they just lacked the presence and luck to finish any one of them. They would be spewing not to have taken the three points.
Got to say the ref was a tosser when he was getting cranky at us getting set for our first long throw. As the commentators said at the time, Wanderers had been taking ages to do long throws all game. Coach Stajic got cranky over our 'time wasting' when his player ripped the shoelace out of Klein's top lace hole and Klein had to relace his boot. Whinger. The ref prejudging our time wasting though shows a lack of impartiality I don't like regardless of what has happened in previous games.
Bility had 2 awful moments - one passing the ball direct to a free Wanderers player and the second having no clue where Kraev was behind him for the best Wanderers chance when Kraev headed over the bar unguarded. You could see Bility turning to follow the path of the ball and nodding his head towards it in futile hope when it was a good metre away from him.
I agree - let's hope it is just cobwebs as he was starting to improve his impact on games when he was last playing regularly.
Klein off with a concussion substitution is bad for us. He is one of the key cogs in our team when he is playing well.
We had a more balanced period of play for a good spell at the start of the second half, but the longer the half went on the more our substitutions made us play with less and less direction and focus - other than to drop back to our defensive positions sooner and let Wanderers pass round our one or two forwards attempting to slow the attack pointlessly.
Disrupting our 'set starters' with injuries and rotation is proving to be more damaging to our play than should be expected. I did not feel like we were going to score - although the two times O'Shea lined up a shot there was a glimmer of hope - but every time a cross came in we looked toothless with no-one attacking the ball and just lofted headers with no direction or drive being easily defended.
Open play remains our best chance of goals and playing without a midfield presence like today stuffs up our chances of building those.
I liked Borello for his return for the Wanderers. He made an impact and had a few chances. Barbarouses on the other hand seems less and less effective for all the effort he puts in.
Have 4 mates who were Wanderers members for maybe first ten seasons.Anyone go regularly to games know friends who arent going any more? Im curious why they have stopped going
Maybe then crowd drops are more a story of not getting replacements. That just changes the question tho....Have 4 mates who were Wanderers members for maybe first ten seasons.
They all lived within a few suburbs of Parra when they first signed up. Then they all moved out of home, further away (some of them 30 mins to an hour away) and a few of them have had kids making it harder. They used to go together so now that a few of them stopped they’ve all stopped.
But he did not do anything worse than other keepers in this last game.Bouzanis needs to stop with his acting injured all the time it's getting old
I didn't see redders but I saw bouzanis act injured after running into the net. Like I love football and even roar I like but that's just patheticBut he did not do anything worse than other keepers in this last game.
I remember watching Redmayne look to his coach at the end of a second half and tap his wrist. His coach (Corica I think) nodded and Redmayne went to ground holding his leg.
I want every ref to stamp out the time wasting crap - whether it is my team or another - but at the same time they need to be consistent between the teams on the pitch and the time of game. Time wasting is time wasting any time in the game and to get on top of it as soon as it happens helps stop it later.
Maybe even have a ref 'fuck up' and send a keeper off the field after getting 'assistance' before they can come back on if it is obvious they are faking. Would be an outcry and an apology no doubt - but lesson learned. Faghani could get away with it.
I liked Zadkovich and where we were heading, but I have to say the style of football and intensity under Valkanis has been a breath of fresh air from the first pre-season game.Yeah, pretty ugly. Really want to see Hore more involved. Hopefully a reshuffle when Stajic returns will help but that might be a while.
Agreed. Redmayne was a few seasons back - it just stuck in my craw at the time and remains rent free as blatant, preplanned, coach endorsed activity.I didn't see redders but I saw bouzanis act injured after running into the net. Like I love football and even roar I like but that's just pathetic
Usually sit with a group of around 15 or so at Victory games on the second tier, collection of friends/cousins..etc. Only 3 were there last night, big relevance problems for the a-league atmAnyone go regularly to games know friends who arent going any more? Im curious why they have stopped going
I don't think that BR lost their mojo. The other clubs are paying them more respect, hence their games are harder. And I think that everyone knows who Lucas Herrington is now. Of course once he departs, BR's defence will collapse because neither Bility nor Valkranis are up to it. Bility is just not AL level.I liked Zadkovich and where we were heading, but I have to say the style of football and intensity under Valkanis has been a breath of fresh air from the first pre-season game.
We have lost our mojo the last few games. Valkanis has to get that back and make us look forward with the ball rather than back all the time. It has become a game of never conceding rather than not losing to me. After all. a game that is won on a single goal in 30 minutes of positive football and 60 minutes of passive/defensive football gives you the same 3 points as 3 goals in 90 minutes of positive, attacking football.
It leaves us open to a single goal loss though and with Herrington going that is more than a chance of happening.
We have to fix our front half pay before January or we will be losing games by a goal or two every week.
