A-League Mens 25/26 - Round 23

The coverage of the A-League is awful when it comes to officiating and VAR. I have no idea what my views are about the handball incident or whether Adams was fouled in the box or 0.2 millimeters outside. If we are going to impose technology into the game like this, then at least mic up the referee and VAR so the viewer has some idea what is going on.

In re to the Adams penalty incident, it is really hard to understand how the VAR determined there to be sufficient evidence to overturn the decision and instead award a free kick 0.2 mm outside the box.

That was the worse game of football this season! No wonder nobody showed up for the game as they knew what they would be in for. Ugly football x 2. Roar just suck now and SFC are a loss cause.

Newcastle Jets? what happened during the break? At times they could not string two passes together. And often when they did the ball was hit too hard for the receiver that he had to stop to control the ball or it was too far in front of just behind them. That was the real issue.

I thought the international break would be a blessing. Didn’t turn out that way, completely agree and Kota in the first half was no good. Summed up when he had that easy pass to put someone through but somehow over hit it for a goal kick. MacArth deserved the win and even in the 1-0 win we had I thought they were unlucky. They’ve got the measure of the Jetties that’s for sure. Sad

For whatever reason, it definitely seems like both teams are setup for each other this season. 3 games, 15 goals total. Every game was decided by a single goal. Could be very interesting if they end up meeting in the finals.

I thought the ref was very poor, the Jets were bloody terrible, but when you're playing the dirtiest team in the comp, you need the ref on the ball. How Brattan gets away with rugby tackles constantly is beyond me. It was an obvious ploy to go in hard to every tackle, and that's fine if the line isn't crossed, the line was crossed repeatedly. I'd like every team to play like the Jets, but sometimes the Jets can't even play like the Jets. It was boring to watch and Milli has got a big job to do this week

8 Yellows (Auckland) to 1 (Adelaide). Sakai should have had a red with his tackle of Janovic when he (Sakai) was on the ground.

Alagich is a gun. Hope he plays Asia Cup.

Refereeing wow…. Just wow…. How have Auckland got away with that. Even if Sakai gets a mm of Birkitt he has to be sent yeah? That was filth

Make it make sense. One of the worst pieces of officiating in A-League history.... How was the Sakai challenged not reviewed and straight red? And then out of nowhere VAR reviews something totally different and calls over the referee for a still shot of a hand on a throat, for which the referee gives a yellow card. Wtf. I didnt think VSR could be used for yellow cards? And we are left with an absurd situation where the Adelaide player that was two-footed got a yellow card, for who knows what, other than being the unlucky person to have been two footed (and hence involved in the incident). Seriously, the VAR is cooked. It is just so full of s*&t.

Brattan is a classic case of player who is too old and makes up for his lack of speed by relentless dirty play. He's become a blight of a player.

Adelaide fluke there way to another points shared in wots become a classic match up.
