With 5 games left, it's kinda nuts that WSW/Perth can mathematically still make finals. It would be a bit of long shot and involve winning all 5 and other teams going on massive losing streaks. Then at the other end, it's possible SFC (and below) can also still miss out on finals.
If it was a proper league with relegation, with only 6 points separating 6th and 12 it would be shaping up to be one crazy relegation battle.

Dream round surely:
- WSW beat Adelaide
- MacArthur beat Auckland
- Brisbane and Wellington have a good time
- victory coast draw
- Jetties beat sydney
- Perth beat city because fun

Can't see the first two happening. I think the top 6 are really the top 5 plus one of City or CCM. Now they are out of Asia City can concentrate on what they need to do. I think 36 will be enough for the 6.

A loss for WSW or GLY and they are gone. BNE and WEL and MAC can afford 1 loss - the rest need to be wins - draws won't suffice. City need 10 points from 5 games - possible and CCM 9 points from 18 - also possible.

Similarly 47 should be needed to be in the conversation for the premiership. Auckland and NUJ favourites. Sydney can't get there. Adelaide and Victory need to win last 5 to get there.

I have no idea what to make of WSW. They have known players, albeit an older side, that have performed. Stacic could not make them work nor can GVE. My take that a lot of the older players should probably be looking for new contracts elsewhere because I don't think that WSW should keep them. WSW should scout the younger players from other AL teams and select a coach that can mold them into a cohesive unit.

They should develop their own youngsters instead of poaching them from other clubs. They have so much talent in their doorstep but throughout their existence, haven’t been able to develop them.

WSW have supposed the best nurturing ground but their academy hasn’t produced the goods for them.
The only player that has benefited has been Bonetig the rest have left for other teams.

For a club of their status they should never be at the bottom or missing out of the top 6 every season, something needs to change or else they will be the same spot again.

Maybe then instead of fixing the coaching & first team, they should fix their academy.
