A-League Mens 25/26 - Round 21

Looks like Talay is going to WSW at the end of the season. SFC for the spoon in 26/27.

Anyone else get the gut feeling that SFC are going to be premiers?
They are a bit inconsistent but their upcoming schedule has a lot of potential for them to go on a bit of a streak.
They only have one interstate game, but it's Brisbane so not really much travel to deal with.
They face both Jets and Auckland at home so there is big opportunities to take points off both and close the gap.
Then their other opponents are City, Roar, WSW and Perth. All of which have been poor recently.
Interestingly both Jets and Auckland are facing the same teams in their last 5 games.
The problem for both of them is that 4 of those teams are SFC, MV, AU and CCM. All of which have found a bit of form and can be dangerous on a good day. They also face Macarthur, which should be an easy 3 points.

Hot take. SFC to be Premiers. MV to be runners up. SFC v MV grand final.

Weirdly I think this will benefit all parties.

So at this stage it looks like Talay will manage WSW, Kisnorbo will manage Sydney, Stanton will manage Perth with Sterjovski, Valkanis and Vidmar on sack watch.

Don’t think there’s been so much managerial turnover over such a short period of time!

Wow I wonder why people aren't tuning 🫩

Why would that have anything to do with it?
I think he’s implying there isn’t as much loyalty to clubs as there should be. A Sydney coach shouldn’t be going to Wanderers. City shouldn’t be signing ex-Victory players after failed stints in Europe.

Eh you see coaches going to rival clubs all the time all around the world. Look at Jose Mourinho for example.

Fuck, Kisnorbo. Arnie coming back will do.

Except there’s virtually no chance it will happen. He’s the best available candidate
There a few NPL coaches that would do the job on a shoestring budget, But as we have seen from SFC board they will bring in sum1 expensive that will just fumble through the season and be spoon bound at the end.

Surely there has to be a reason why they’ve dipped so much this season relative to others except for in COVID.
Not sure

I think frachises start big then revert to the mean. Crowd averages are above what u would expect globally even today when u look at what crowds u would predict from our wages. So probably the only way to grow in a franchise model is to continuously sell new licenses to have new franchises (some starting crap others starting with a boom) then raise wages using money from license fees like the usa does

Even there the franchises stagnate even as the league as a whole grows

We already have an NPL level manager, and we would like to get rid of him, ASAP.
