A-League Mens 25/26 - Round 19

The APL needs to understand the power of marketing. It’s time for an independent commission to run the A-League, because the club owners are massively conflicted and failing to raise the public awareness let alone profile of the league. They do not set any agenda for the future that is perceptible or exciting. We seemed anchored on the same spot as other sports eat our lunch in terms of marketing and stadiums. It’s time to get moving. A plan that focuses on future funding and the growth of the A-League as spelled out on Breaking Barriers and Building Block. The failure of the current clubs and their conflicted domination of the APL to advance the league is the primary reason crowds at games are falling. Grow some footballs!

Funny, how no one has ever thought of this before. Be done to death on here mate.

Tough game between Jets and Mariners with two very well organised defences on. top.Glad the good guys stopped Newcastle's winning streak though commentators seemed disappointed.
Watching Wanderers dismantle the Bulls .Amazing run by Dylan Scicluna to set up the 4th goal which was scored by Borrello.

Dylan Scicluna is a really good player I get the Socceroos bolter discussion calls because I see that potential.

But he should play as a No.8 not a single pivot under the WSW's system, because he has plenty to offer when he plays in a more advanced role that was a quality assist by the way for the 4th WSW's goal.

Absolutely. Jovanovic should have scored rather than hit the upright - coach and career killer that one. MVC completely dominated the mid-field and were quite good in defense but their forwards just could not do anything. Kikianis was below his standards and responsible for teh goal as well as a few other blunders.
I agree with the sentiment about Ryan White he's not talked as much but he looks like a good player as well and I agree he should have been rewarded with a assist with that quality pass too if Jovanovic didn't fluff he's chances.

Have the Jets lost their attacking spark in the last couple of games? They didn't create many chances in this game I thought CCM defended quite well but the Jets didn't look as smooth they normally looked for most of the season.

However the disallowed goal looked a bit harsh, I understand the context but still.

If you have VAR for offside it always happens. Offside is the only thing where clear and obvious error doesn't apply. You're off side or you are not. He interfered so VAR was always going to give it.

Without VAR it wouldn't have been picked up and would have stood. while I liked the result I'd be happier without VAR.
