Sign Up Now!Yep I’ve decided to go to a Melbourne Derby next season (hopefully the double header if I can make it down). My goal is to one day have gone to every A-League derby. That performance tonight moved me in many places![]()
What I don't get is he took Caputo off who was our striker? We don't have anyone to put it in the back of the netVidmar needs to step aside , he can’t take them forward anymore.
While they are alive in the ACLE that is not going to happen.Vidmar needs to step aside , he can’t take them forward anymore.
Bruno Fernandes watching A-League was not on my bingo card tonight
I heard on a pod that Gerrard had agreed to join Melbourne Heart/City, but the other A-League clubs rejected it as it was against the rules at the time. Might've been too many marquees or something. But how crap, even as a Victory fan I would've allowed that. You probably don't want them bending the rules every year, but a one-off would've been massive. It does make you wonder how many players have considered moves here for retirement as marquee signings. Elite foreign players like Alessandro Del Piero, Douglas Costa, Juan Mata, Marcel Tisserand, Dwight Yorke, etc have done it. We may not have the best pay in comparison to the MLS or the SPL, but we've got a great lifestyle, great weather, passionate fans and a lot of multicultural communities who would support the players. Look at Piero Quispe even, he's not even one of our best players and is only young yet the Peruvian fans come to every game. In the ALW, Sabitra Bhandari (Samba) has brought in up to a thousand Nepali fans to Phoenix games (unfortunately she tore her ACL and her season is over). Imagine a future where players like Bruno Fernandes or Marta or Neymar could retire in Australia!
Yeah that woulda been a massive name to have here, especially with the amount of Poms and Liverpool fans we have Down Under. I still want Son Heung-min to come here. Large Korean expat community and a lot of Spurs fans, perfect mix.I heard on a pod that Gerard had agreed to join Melbourne Heart/City, but the other A-League clubs rejected it as it was against the rules at the time. Wonder if they’re Man City fans. Also another thing I see so many city fans at the derbies. We must get a few thousands who just come to the derbies or big games

I was surprised how many City fans were at the game. Heaps of young families. Shows that there is something to build on..
Derbies attract theatre goers. Not sure how old you are but heaps of families would come out to support you when you played Adelaide City...and then not be seen again until you played them again.
We had a similar thing here in Melbourne with our ones.
