I call it a crazy season when the highest goal difference after 10/11/12 games is 8.

Not a single team has scored 1 more goal per game than they have conceded on average.

Ftb are you thinking it's a missed opportunity not to have these games a week later when the tennis is on?

No. We might have got a few extra bums on seats due to the Barmy Army which happens once every 4 years, but the tennis actually has the opposite impact. As a matter of fact, I have long been saying the AL should be taking a summer break in January.

We have Adelaide Away next week. It's the second consecutive year this has been held in mid-January when flights and accommodation are exorbitant and the weather is hot. They used to hold it early in the season... I wish they would return to that.

Interesting. I used to go to the tennis and then the a league after was so much fun I imagine you'd get a few people doing that so thought a league should do more games in Melbourne during the ao

I wish they would just generate a standard draw where there was fairness as to gaps between games and the home / away structure. Have a template draw and then do a broadcast event where the teams are drawn into slots within that draw.

Once the draw is complete, then APL and broadcasters can sit down and select the time slots for each week.

I am over the extent to which the FFA, now the APL, have sought flexibility within the draw for a range of reasons. It has come at a cost of some absurd fixturing that has been counter productive to growing crowds.

As a side note, but somewhat related, I am still at a loss how Sydney FC were able to postpone their game against Auckland because they could not provide a field to play on, and have it rescheduled to a later mid-week time which is at a detriment to Auckland. How is it Auckland get punished for Sydney's failure to provide a playing field?

Our traditional game against Sydney on Australia Day always clashes with a night session at the tennis... usually late in the tournament. the last 2 years has been the mens semi final. I am certain this has an impact on crowd numbers.

I don’t really like the insistence of having to play an AL game on every day over the Xmas/New year period. Victory having to play Wellington on Monday December 29 was bullshit scheduling IMO.

My suggestion of having a summer break in January means we would play a full round on around December 26-27 (dependent on when the weekend fell), then resume in either the last week of January or first week of February.

I would hate to be trying to work with all the parties to get a draw finalised.

In our small competition and small squads it would be wrong to penalise ACL involvement to the detriment of our standing as a national league and the clubs involved.

'Unable to find a ground' only works for me if their are environmental factors involved like regional flooding. Been home games played at the away stadium before.

I don't think we will ever see a standard draw unless it is the starting point before they move all the pieces around.

Brisbane really really need a win but it won’t be coming this week unfortunately.

I will be surprised if we do not get at least 8k to the Roar game.

Back at Suncorp and people who did not want to travel to Redcliffe or couldn't for the last game will come.

We know Wellington certainly won’t.
