A-League Mens 25/26 - Elimination Finals

Newcastle Adelaide GF please
I think that's the grand final everyone wants, but Auckland have never lost to Adelaide and with the Jets facing SFC we all know how much VAR and the refs favour SFC hands down. Im telling you now, don't start crying when SFC wins the semi from some BS officiating.

If that was the case, we would have about ten penalties a match
So it’s not a clear foul? Seriously if you argue against it you look ridiculous. There is no clearer cut foul visually.

Not even arguing about result. That is an atrocious decision. Terrible for the game

Not as ridiculous as you sound.

In addition to the shirt pull not going to the VAR. Mata super kick to the head of the sydney player in the 1st half would hsve come under nore scrutiny if it was anyone else.

How was the santos one ‘clear and obvious error’?

Surely there was contact? Even if minimal. He got his hip.

If it wasn’t called I’d be 50/50, but once called not sure how the can overturn it as it’s clearly debatable? I have seen even Sydney fans on social saying it was probably a pen.

Auckland's second season attendances have been disappointing after season 1. You would think after the Premiership there would have been an uptick, not a nosedive. Mystifying.
Victory continue to fail to recapture their lost supporters.

Both underwhelming to say the least.

APL and the clubs need to work MUCH harder to bring back the lost spectators.

Personally, I don't think the finals system works for football and I believe we are seeing the system failing. So little interest in these two games. Everything about the A League needs a thorough shakeup.

For me it was clear as day when the kiwis were carrying on it wasn’t going to last.

They’ll probably be knights 2.0 in a few years.

As for lost spectators, well, after the officiating last night it’s not going to help.

Maybe jets can do a feel good story

It looks that way with Auckland. Not sure that Coricaball is the right fit.

Agree on the Jets - here's hoping.

But this was not a good start for this season's finals.

My Wishlist:

- Ditch the finals and have the FFA cup positioned same the FA cup in the UK.
- Genuine prize money for the Premiership
-Rename the Premiership the Championship
- Playoff system for promotion and relegation - bottom two A league clubs - no idea how this would work but until we have something like it we will have one flatlining season after another
- Ditch the salary cap so we can compete in Asia. Yes, there will be consequences, but we are seeing the consequences of imposed mediocrity

The A League has become a boring competition. I exclude the Jets and Adelaide from that comment, but the rest... Well, workmanlike is the best I can manage. The big disappointment is Melbourne City. They should do better with their resources.

Milligan has shown the difference a coach can make. I think coaching standards in the A League are lacklustre. We have a number of coaches in charge who are, to be blunt, solid assistant coaches promoted beyond their capacity. The competition badly needs new ideas from outside. The Catch 22 is that our clubs can't afford the people who could bring it. As it is, we have a coaching cross between an echo chamber and goldfish bowl.

No worries. The shiny new toy from Christchurch is just the thing the league needs.

Santos one wasn't a pen. He made the most of it.
