Game day. Get to the game with friends or family or watch at home if you can't make it.

no asian ref would give that goal haha

Hot damn what a finish! First half was unltra defensive and not giving up anything. Good to see both team open up and go for a win in the second half.
The way the camera shakes from the terraces when the Reds score gives me goosebumps. Such a vibe at Hindmarsh.

Great game. And as a fan of defenders that whole game was cracking. Barely had time to move and so evenly poised. The side that tired first was going to go down.

AU's first goal was fair - since when does a backward tug cause the player to fall forward? If it was substantial then I expect torn shirt. Aside from that controversy, all goals were eye candy. Great build up, skill, nous, a dose of luck - all I could ask for. My only question that 7 minutes of extra time became 10 minutes - someone get the ref a sense of timing. Is he Brazilian by any chance?

Fair goal for me. The shirt pull was inconsequential, the Auckland player went down way too easily.
I have posted this in the 'are you blind' thread for any ongoing discussion rather than derailing the matchday thread.

"If he had not gone to ground the goal would probably have been disallowed. It wasn't inconsequential because it gave the attacker that moment to get ahead of his player and that is what a quick shirt pull does.

Because the player chose to go to ground to highlight it VAR and the ref can easily ignore it under the current season's guidelines for exaggeration resulting in no foul.

I don't actually agree with the foul not being awarded (bloody shirt tugs) because that is what a foul is and there was a very clear and obvious benefit to the attacker. But I have to applaud the exaggeration effectively being punished.

Surely, with VAR these days, players should be able to do their best to play the whistle - especially for defenders - and expect VAR to take a foul like that into account and disallow a resultant goal."
