Well, technically the Big Bash fans don't have a "mind". They just want to take the kids to a glorified backyard cricket music concert, with some New Year's fireworks thrown in.

Ask any of them what the league means to them and their understanding of the tactics (or lack thereof) and 99% wouldn't be able to tell you. "Ug, see ball, bash ball", that's about it.

It's just not cricket.

It's a football forum batty so a league should win this
Well the BIG Bash certainly seems to raise more enthusiasm from the Australian general sporting public, the media and corporate sponsors than the A League franchise competition does, so who knows....

People wouldn't want to lie to themselves just because they prefer football to cricket....would they?

As always, the market decides.

People forget that Big Bash sprang from traditional cricket. It suits the kids and parents that a game is over quickly. I know a traditionalist who did go to the Big Bash when his kids were in primary school. Now that they are finishing high school, they don't even bother knowing anything about big bash. And their ratings are dropping.

funny about that, I used to take the kids when small to AL though they always were at our local brounds playing and NPL more than anything.
Once they got to early teens didn't care to go nor did i - we went for the ADP sugar hit due to his epic career and our italian background liek many others did.
Pyjama cricket I have totally no interest in, after the original Packer circus nothing compares and I'm so over cricket but for certain tests.

I find that the cricket -especially ODI and T20 is very like NRL. It is on as a default. People do not necessarily actively watch it. They are interested in it though. When there is a wicket or someone is really going to town against the bowling the change in tone of the commentators will cause people to pay attention.

The question is, which is the shitiest plastic franchise in the BBL? T20 is only good to have on in the background when you're having a BBQ, where's I can literally watch every ball of a test series

Don't ALL forms of cricket wear pyjamas though? How come some of them wear white ones and the others wear fluro ... is it a club by club thing or does it depend on the league they are playing in?

White is for Test Match's.....

Coloured is for 1day/limited over BBash style stuff.
Was nicknamed pyjama cricket way back in the ol days when it got introduced Packer era '77, WSC (world series cricket).
Poms mocked hated it and tried to not let get it approved registered/sanctioned - good ol KP beat them its a rippa storey. you should look up the doco.
Day night games, 50 overs each side.
Got to say was brilliant to see back those days, caught Marsh bowled Lillee carried on from test cricket, the Windies we're dynamite, it was great viewing.
Now its morphed into BB etcetc....gone too BS for me.
