2027 Asian Cup

Depending on injury and regular club minutes, Aus could play a 5-4-1 without the ball, and a 4-3-3 with it - like Netherlands did in the WC group rounds.

............................. Beach

Italiano.........Circati.......Souttar..........Bos

..............O'Neill..................Okon Jr
..........................Robertson

Volpato...............Toure................McGree

in Possession for the Asian Cup.

Of course, Irank could replace any of the front three, but only O'N, Souttar and McGree, arguably Circati, have sufficient international/club experience.

Herrington also increases pressure on the 2 CBs. As does Leonard if he plays regular Bundi minutes.

I beg to differ. I might have said it before, but went back over a game where JS96 listed many exact moments that Behich supposedly messed up.

JS96 was right a few times, but in doing so, Strain made a lot of mistakes!

I think Arnie's greatest mistake was overlooking Geria at RB.
I remember it differently. Strain did very well ... against England, was it?

Good to hear, but how tough was the opposition?

Still love hearing this!
Dylan is better at progressive carries although Lucas still has a light frame, both great tackling ball winners, both have technical ability miles ahead of the average Australian player. Lucas probably attempted more progressive passes than his brother, will break out this season if given the gig at number 6.

I think now Italiano has overtaken Miller as first choice RWB.

Someone else pointed it out initially, but Italiano's jockeying and delaying of two different superb Turkish left wingers, very good at dribbling, both with blond hair, was outstanding. It was.

Italiano makes better, proactive runs to support ball carriers than Miller too. Although Miller is good to have if there is an overly rugged left side opposition player, bullying us. Miller is an aerial threat too.

Italiano has better technique on the ball.
I agree. The point of my post was about the 2nd choice right back which is wide open.

Strain's England game was great. He still has it. Just needs to shake off injuries.

Elder was injured every single window with something minor so it's nit harsh treatment rather very bad luck.

I wouldn't be taking him anyway. He's a wrestler more than a footballer. Need to advance Overy and RBR. Bennie too.
I understand where you're coming from as I think that Miller moves more like an Aussie Rules defender than a footballer. However in my opinion in the months before his injury he was showing that he is still improving and still somewhat off his ceiling.

Perfect pick in a squad who can play both centre defence and on the right.
This generation's Mat Leckie? I used to think the same of him back in 2014-15 - although not as much as a 'wrestler', but someone that could run all day and hold their own, with not so much visible general football skill.

Falkirk were promoted and are now in the Scottish Premiership.
This has already been mentioned to Decentric in previous posts where he commented incorrectly on Strain being with Falkirk in the second tier. But as per usual he just continues on with his same old shtick.
