And that's where I disagree. It's highly unlikely this was built up over weeks and is rather contingent on McGree's injury.

If a player of Volpato's quality was available his selection wouldnt be hinging on Mcgree's injury, he'd be in from the start.

This is really important, I've said it before, we all know from life experience what one bad apple can do to team spirit and cohesion, in work, sport or family. Not pre-judging Volpato bu I know from my own pathetically limited sporting experience that passion and commitment (for "us" not for "me") can trump technical skill

Huge news. Def adds to our quality. Clearly conversations have been happening in the background for this to happen. He wouldn’t be included in the train on squad after cracking it at Italy’s latest squad. Things take time.

It would have started straight after the March window. Popovic virtually signalled it a week or so ago when he said there may be surprises.
