Silvera I think. I reckon Popovic won't bother. It's going to be so competitive. Injuries are coming either at club or camp so a lot of players are hungry and waiting.

Sickening treatment of Balard. We'll have clarity but it's going to suck when some get in and others don't. 9 to be left out after that.

Yeah it's going to be contentious regardless. Once the matches start in behind everyone to do well but if players don't leave it all out there I'll be mad. They've been gifted this opportunity at the expense of many others who deserve it.

Comparing this squad to 2014 or 2018 we've got so many who we'd be happy to see.

2014 we were clutching at straws with Wright or Luongo being so raw but adding some youth and in 2018 we felt fine by having Jurman and Meredith. Handy types but nowhere near our current offering.
 
As if Okon isn't going to get picked. Are we going to have some weird family moment where Paul gets mad at Popovic or some crying about it being so tough.

Be professional and mature but Paul Okon lingers around trying to gain favours for his son.
 
Do we take 4 keepers to camp? Ryan coming in late so we'll need trainers anyway. Gotta be the obvious 4.

Insanely long buildup to the first game.

I hope for players who are obvious selections like Irankunda and Toure, they can at least have a 1-2 week rest before heading to the camp. Its totally unnecessary having them train with the first arrivals. According to that FOX Sports article, it seems like the early arrivals will be players who are on the fringes and not currently playing (a lot of A-League players fit this category).


Though, the deadline is May 12th for the long-list, the Socceroos supposedly will submit their long-list squad on May 6th, but it's unsure if they will announce that squad to the public, instead possibly leaving it behind closed doors.

Exactly right. Give those who need it a holiday. A bit of sun and sand the get over there.

The fringe players won't have much time for rest as they look to impress. Behich will likely be given time off and permitted to start that bit later.

I think Leckie will get picked as an early arrival as well. He looked strong today.
