2026 World Cup Squad

I love Rowles and Degenek as they bleed for the shirt. Elder is actually a LWB unlike Rowles. Elder's LCB experiences at club level far outweigh Rowles's LWB abilities. Someone will miss out. I'm still compacting and shifting my squad. I also want to fit Hrustic, Segecic and Goodwin in. Velupillay for me has to go as he's got the wildcard factor too.

Is it really the worst thing to consider Bos an occasional winger and then play Behich at LWB or even have his experience at RWB? These are pros who needn't be worried about being on the other foot when all the other football aspects are considered.

October, changes in bold:

Ryan, Gauci, Izzo

Miller, Geria, Souttar, Circati, Burgess, Degenek, Rowles, Bos, Elder

Irvine, Metcalfe, Balard, O'Neill, Yazbek, Hrustic, Robertson

Goodwin, McGree, Boyle, Irankunda, Toure, Segecic, Sapsford

I think I'm still set on this. I think now I'd add Velupillay and omit Rowles. Playing a back 3, only Bos can't play at centre back. That's 7 blokes. We should be fine.

Put in my tuppence worth:
Ryan,Izzo,Beach
Miller,Strain,Circati,Burgess,Degenek,Trewin,Rowles,Bos,Behich
Irvine,O'Neill,Balard,Metcalfe,Yazbek,Hrustic,Devlin
Silvera,Irankunda,McGree,Goodwin,Toure,Sapsford and Segecic.

I have not picked Souttar as he has not played for the best part of two seasons and time running out.Duke unlucky and if Segecic not in Popa's plans he is in for me.

A like for the use of the word tuppence haha

Ah shit. Goodwin with a groin injury. We have lots of depth but he's just got to brain and x factor to be part of the 26. Late cameos like against Argentina.

Clayton Taylor anyone?

He's getting better and better.
i don't know so many in his position to compete with
mcree, metcalfe, boyle, goodwin (if fit), irankunda, segacic, silvera, Kuol, Jed drew, bunch of other a league players too

He definitely looks like he could make the cut at when he peaks, at least occasionally

Would pack the schedule a bit but an AFC Nations league is where Taylor would fit in nicely for now. Issue is it'll probably be ought of season and be farcical like some Asian club matches.

More depth for the next cycle is always a good thing.

Probably needs an overseas move first.

This should exist. Especially if we split the AFC.

I have Taylor ahead of Silvera, Kuol or Jed Drew. If Metcalfe and Goodwin are not fit or available then that leaves McGree, Boyle, Irankunda and Segacic. McGree is no certainty due to his ability to get injured. So he could be a chance. What counts against Taylor, is that he has never been called up before and whether he has the level of fitness to match it.
