2026 UEFA WC Qualification

Thing is though, if fans keep turning up and paying the prices, there is nothing to stop them. On top of this, clubs keep turning up and players keep playing.

It needs someone to take a serious stand. They keep finding new ways to not only screw over fans, but players. The amount of football they are playing is insane. No wonder we are seeing more injuries and more players tiring out quicker.

Also, with dynamic pricing, fans are getting screwed over more. FIFA has literally gone, fuck the fans and players, fuck the environment, just keep giving us your money, and we as fans let it happen.

I've been to 4 world cups but given the way FIFA has decided to fuck everyone over I doubt I'll be able to afford to go again. (Maybe the WC womens in Brazil 2027 but definitely not the mens.)

I feel sorry for my kids who will probably never get the chance.

You're right though, they could charge $1000 USD for the cheapest seats and there's enough wealthy people to fill the stadium 50 times over. It's such a shame.

Tbh this is half our thinking with going to Mexico. I have mates from around the world coming. We’re just going to go to the fan fests and bars to watch the games. At least there will be a cool atmosphere there even if we can’t get in to stadiums

zimbos, I hear you - the big boy clubs are going to mutiny sooner or later like before. (let alone the ME lords)
He managed it ( and insitgated more tournaments & $ etc) and some supporter backlash as well helped but it will give one day.
It may not help us minnows regards to costs straight up but there will be a reset one day I feel - this 24/7 playing is going to pop.

Muz, let me tell you from knowing many abroad from many walks of life more so medium down to week to week wage earners.
They will save and save compared to the types who complain back here - there will always be those from average salary who will walk over hot coals to support their 1 luv especially from a poor country unlike ours.
Sure it will be harder and harder - I don't bother going myself to WC's for I think its rip off period and I do make a ok buck, (my 20 properties back it up :) ) I do hope you realise I was taking the piss about that.

I won't be surprised there will be 2 WC's in the years ahead - that will change the whole ball game and even club alliances - pardon the pun.

TSF you'll have a ball just doing as such imo.

The relief and joy for Scotland

I’ve never been to Hampden so I don’t know for sure, but it looks like a shit ground to actually watch a match although the atmosphere there must have been superb. The stand angles look so flat and most seats look to be generally so far away from the pitch, I imagine the view of the pitch must be pretty average.

But anyway I’m happy for the Scots they will bring a real atmosphere to the WC.

Commonly referred to as “ Hamdump” in Scotland. View from behind the goals is terrible. Along the sides it is a good view.

It's harder not to qualify for the World Cup than it is to qualify from Europe.

I'm an England supporter. I watched every game. We won 10 out of 10 without even conceding a goal. It was the most unexciting England qualification phase in my lifetime. No jeapardy whatsoever....

It was like having 10 training games against local non league teams.

I'd actually prefer a roller-coaster ride like Scotland had. At least it steels you for a tournament.

I thought the Scotland v Denmark game was the most extraordinary international game I've seen in years.

I watched most of the France games as well. They're like my secret second favourite international team. It was more or less the same for them.as it.was for England.

I do think that France are the best international side in Europe mind. I think that they can win the World Cup but Argentina, Brazil and Columbia are going to be quite tough to beat. South Americans in their own time zone. Always strong, especially if they’re based in Mexico playing at altitude in some venues.

I like the look of Tuchel's England and ill be disappointed if we didn't get to the business end of the tournament. Spain and Portugal are both stacked with superb players and will be very strong.

Ok - I know I've been spruiking how much I've been enjoying this PES 21 / Football Life 2026 mod recently - but I've decided to go through all the countries that have qualified directly, or have qualified for the final playoffs that are in game (which is all of them, except New Caledonia and Suriname), and put together (what I thought at least) the best squad possible based off:
  • Their most recent squads
  • Players called up within the last 12 months
  • Injured players that would probably walk straight back into the squad - such as Harry Souttar in Australia's case.
  • Only using players that were on the game
Tonight I'm running sims of all the playoffs, and I just feel like doing a simulation of the World Cup.
In this simulation, playoffs will be viewed sims (I may record them on YouTube and put on here for the lulz - will just be set to "5 minutes" like when I simulated the playoffs for the 32 Nation 2026 World Cup. However, for the actual World Cup, I will only be doing 'viewed sims' for Australia's matches.

Ok am doing some of these tonight since I have some of the squads - the rest will all come Sunday night / Monday morning when I'm back from out of town after waiting for squad announcements. Matches I can do at the moment (and consider these my predictions) are:

* Path A - Wales v Bosnia & Herzegovina (awaiting Italian squad announcement)
* Path B - Ukraine v Sweden (awaiting Poland and Albania squad announcements)
* Path C - nil (awaiting all 4 squad announcements)
* Path D - Complete path (all 4 squads announced and replicated to the best of my ability)

This means can do 5 matches - will upload and share once complete with this batch of 5 matches

My UEFA tips

Head says: Italy, Poland, Turkey, Denmark

Heart says: Wales, Sweden, Slovakia, Ireland
