2026 UEFA WC Qualification

Slovakia win. Makes the group very exciting. Northern Ireland beat Luxembourg so they'll be up for it in Cologne next Tuesday.
 
What I hate about Germans is if they start losing it's suddenly 'oh I didn't watch it was so bad' or 'I don't think they'll qualify'. Win a game and they're back on board.

I think its pretty common outlook all over no matter the nation.
As for some it would be - I don't want to look but you can't help doing so even though you know you'd like to bite your arm in frustration.

Luv that 1st game table Mono, go the Irish and Slovaks.

Popular enough but I think for the big nations a lot of games feel like rinse and repeat these days. A lot of countries seem to play each other very regularly. Slip ups by big nations make it more enjoyable.
 
74 gone Denmark Scotland still goalless. Greece demolishing Belarus.

Italy finally break through against Estonia.
 
Scotland get the draw. Czech Republic win as do Croatia just in the Faroe Islands.

These 4 team groups are terrible. 3 windows and that's it. I think I read there are nations league safety nets so Germany could tank and get a Playoff.

Yep, top 4 highest placed group winners in the Nations League that don't finish in either the direct qualifying or playoff spots, get a play off spot
 
Well that's Ireland done already with Hungary up 2:0 in Dublin after 15min.
 
My god Ireland are woeful.
 
Ireland with a plucky goal and then a straight red for Hungary. Initially I thought he just swept from behind but he's gone in with a stomp right in front of the ref. Interesting to note this is a German ref highly familiar with the Hungarians from the Bundesliga.

Ridiculous Germany played Thursday and now Sunday. More rest until club return. They need a little more space between games.

That is weird timing. I wonder why the change from Thursday and Tuesday nights as the norm?

It's just enough time like Europa League clubs playing Sunday league games but it's terribly rushed. The table isn't all that great compared to the AFC.

You'd think with more teams at the world cup they could've set it up that there are more teams in groups with the first two qualifying and a larger group of 3rd teams play off. I even entertained the idea of a league system like the UCL.
