That’s a weird decision to allow the match to proceed at CB Smith Reserve. The lighting there surely can’t be TV broadcast quality unless they bring in temporary lighting.

That ground can’t hold more than 1,500. Anything more would be a tight squeeze. Not sure how it’s going to deal with ticketing requirements and existing capacity.

Larissa Reserve is terrible if they maybe want to segregate crowds. Also wouldn't meet broadcast standards. Thought they'd host it at Somers St though.

Same - would have thought Somers Street could have hosted that match. Can’t see the Knights blocking that. To host it all the way out to Tarneit is ridiculous. Lucky to get 150 people attending.

I can’t work out why we are playing Fremantle City at Sunday 7.40pm. Talk about trying to pick a kick off time that will reduce the crowd attendance numbers.

Surely a Sunday 5pm kick off time would have been the latest you would schedule kick off.

It seems very late for a team on the other side of the country as well.

Im not sure how much say we get but thats twice now we start at the same time as a huge afl game.

Yep - Olympic Village is the closest adequate ground to host that fixture. Interesting to see how it plays out.

Roar v SFC is at Spencer Park - touted as 5000 capacity with 2500/3000 grandstand seating. They say it officially holds 10,000 - so that is a lot of people standing on each other's heels.

Member sales open 11am Monday, with general public sales from 2pm.

Unless they don't think many people care about the Australia Cup at all I can see it selling out long before it goes to the public sale. Maybe I am expecting my own interest aligns with more people than it really does.

Seems wasteful to have a smaller venue for this fixture.

It is a good venue though I have to say.

Having just seen images of Spencer Park - I totally agree. Can’t see how you can fit more than 5,000-6,000 fans in that ground.

I think lambert Park is perfectly fine, but it looks like they are showcasing the match on paramount plus. Hence why it wont be at Lambert Park.

They took inspiration from it as other USA clubs had a trend of naming themselves from overseas organisations eg Chivas.

I don’t think they realise or cared that the name comes from a Moscow Sports Club (all sports) that focused on men becoming physically fit for police, government work etc. I guess similar to a PCYC?

both clubs have week off in their respective NPL competitions that's why South Melbourne v Fremantle City is Sunday Evening + Lakeside Stadium has Dockerty Cup final next Saturday.

Fairly unlikely but I actually seem to recall APIA playing Sydney United at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre a few years back when they had no other options. Imo lambert park would be the better option but wouldn’t entirely rule it out as an outsider of sorts. Capacity 5k
