Perth Glory will face Lions FC on the road and Cumberland United are hosting Heidelberg United.

FK Beograd drawn against North Sunshine Eagles and Newcastle Jets will begin their Hahn Australia Cup title defence against Preston Lions on the road.

Bayswater City host Sydney FC and Maitland FC host Fremantle City in the other Hahn Australia Cup round of 32 fixtures to be drawn.

Last time they met, 2003-04 NSL Semi Final!!
South Melbourne's final match in the national league! Geez, there might be a mix of emotions with this one.

What have they done taping it over the Roma game. Reminds me of the absolute archive of Rai (Italian language tv) telecasts of Serie A games my old man and grandfather used to have stashed in the tv cabinet back in the day

A little disappointing, as I would of liked to go interstate.

How's CCM looking these days? Big turnover in players?

Probably short a a CB or two (depends whether Sainsbury is back) and probably a LW. The rest are reasonable but they have lost around 12 players and none incoming have been announced yet. With the current squad Sydney United would be favourites but hopefully a few waiting to be announced.

The host said it was Old Soccer v New Football.

Yet Adelaide United was in the NSL.

However that odd fact emphasises again why I believe Adelaide people are the most pro A League community in Australia.

They witnessed (lived perhaps!) the crossover from NSL to A League.

Yeh even Adelaide Greeks will 100% be supporting United. I think when we play teams from the other states the Greeks get behind us. No city has done a better job than Adelaide when it comes to selling the A league as the way forward.

Yea as we say, the transition happened organically in Adelaide and qld before that, where as it had to be forced in Melbourne and Sydney. That’s a pretty noteworthy distinction to make and you can see that reflected in the mindset of the npl clubs in the respective cities
