Lions FC would definitely finish in the top 5 of the NPL Victoria competition. Crisp and sharp passing, overlapping runs, good defensive structure and they look dangerous upfront. They will definitely push South or Preston in the semifinal. They are no pushovers.
Massive potential banana skin, not to be taken lightly by either South or Preston. Worth noting through they’ve only played at home thus far, will be interesting to see how they travel
I don't see Lions as a banana skin. That suggests an unexpected slip up but Lions are clearly playing above our State form consistently.
No disrespect at all intended to lions, they’re clearly a good team and will be good value in the aus championship. I just mean to say that Preston/South hosting that semi to potentially set up a national cup final v Melbourne victory or even Sydney fc will have all the expectation on their shoulders to do their part and the favourites tag, but they could easily easily lose.

.Fwiw South’s league position isn’t fully indicative of the reality imo. They’ve played atleast a third maybe more of their npl games with a second string team due to commitments with the Oceania competition or cup etcI did not read any disrespect in your comments. Yes I think you might be correct however the QLD NPL is very poor in quality apart from Power, Eastern and Moreton the rest of the league is very average Lions have recruited strong and I think its all about the Championship for them, will be interesting to see how they go as they have some quality players but have never been under any kind of real physical pressure and they have played all their games in Brisbane in the cup so far even though they beat A League opposition Perth were rubbish and Mel City played their youth team, Sunshine are a relegated team from VPL1 so without trying to take too much away from them they havent really been tested dare I say so far.
Yes but given all the circumstances they were under recently with a run of games trying to stave off relegation they put everything into that run but ultimately failed plus the cup game v Heidelberg going to pens and the way they play the game it probably knocked the stuffing out of them completely - it was really too much of an ask for them to raise their game again on a big wide pitch against a quality Lions team and it showed
NPL Qld games are generally pretty poorly attended — a couple of hundred people at most, really. There just isn't the same fan culture that you see down in Melbourne, particularly around clubs like South, Knights, Preston, Heidelberg etc.
A South fan that is ALSO an A League fan? They do exist, but a rare as hehe teeth I’d say

I did have a laugh when deciding to add aleague club in my example for a south fan.
Lions even though they have always been a top team in QLD have never had any kind of decent support ever - as you say Olympic probably the best support plus Power & Brisbane City after that its a struggle to get more than 200 people to a game - its pitiful really I noticed the vast difference when my lad came down to Melbourne and yes the football culture is great down in Victoria and much more passionate too
