Fullbacks are a weak spot for the national team so the more the merrier

I mentioned on the pod that I thought the cupsets reflected the npl teams improving based on acl performances and transfers.....but if this is a sign of what our asian campaigns are going to look like this year I'll be eating my words

Pat Kisnorbo talked about it being strange without a full squad playing in the national Aus Cup, but given AU only lost a few players from last season to transfer, Jovanovic, Dukuly, they were awful in the Aus Cup against a NPL team.

I was disturbed they were playing an ACL game in a few weeks - which I haven't been able to access. Jets were the same - losing 4 last season players, plus 1 still injured.

AU still had experienced campaigners Goodwin, Yull, Vriend, Kikkianis, Alagich, and the keeper.

Not sure how experienced Barnett and White are?

Barnett? He has played over 50 games for AU. Was with Victory and Roar previously. Not like he is a young kid.

If I have the correct player, I thought he was a bit of a weakness at LB for the Aus u 20s, or was it a depleted Aus u23s?

Then again in the same team Herrington was reserve CB to Esposito and Kikianis. Look where LH has gone since. Players can impove very quickly at that age.
