2025 Hahn Australia Cup

Plenty of non ffv clubs...
Looking through the only club playing in a non-FFV league this season (in the first link) recognisable is Portland Panthers - and they were playing in an FFV league at that time (2024, since changed to SA Federation Cup qualifying pathway this year). There's clubs from outside the State Leagues but they still play in FFV leagues (metropolitan or regional), there aren't clubs that exclusively play in Churches/Bayside/MCSA.

Prior to WA being mentioned the only non-affiliated clubs I knew were SAASL sides and random military teams the first year the NT got a slot.

Just like oranges said, Just because they aren't in Melbourne, doesn't mean they aren't part of FFV. That mentality is why football in places like Albury, Wagga and Griffith fall apart.

As per the National Australian Football Club Database I've put together, below is the list of leagues from Victoria that competed in the Dockerty Cup for 2025:

EDIT: Ok copying the table is a bust. But it's all there

these leagues have not always been connected, there is multiple non-ffv clubs in the links provided but no chinese/church league teams. bayside teams have entered though

They don't need to be connected - they just need to be registered with FFV. All clubs from 2024 and 2025 are - is our point.

Before that? Who knows, perhaps - I don't have that information at hand

I thought it was Newcastle vs Heidelberg.... was it an All star game league vs league?
He he hee.

I am pretty sure MCG was saying that 'everyone' has a dog in a game of NPL v aLeagues.

If you like NPL/Community football you can support the NPL team.
If you like aLeagues you can support aLeagues.
If you like Bergers or hate Jets/aLeagues you can support them.
If you like Jets or hate Bergers/NPL you can support them.
Now we get tricky...
If you like NPL but hate Bergers you can support Jets.

And if you like Australian football or Grand Finals you can like the game itself.

Grammatical Footnote: Like the Scottish Mac, the L following the a is capitalised in aLeagues. It denotes "Son of" - thus Son of Leagues is the proper derivation of the name.

Now hud yer gub or put a bridie in it and play on ;).

Yes, this was a totally BS post and I made you read it. :P
