2025 Australia Cup final rounds thread

Mark Milligan has done a fantastic job, they play a very nice style of fluid attacking football always looking at playing through the thirds and doing it with some good young players along the way.

Also Max Burgess is on a mission in restoring he’s reputation after getting shafted by Sydney, although they are missing one player that’s Clayton Taylor anyone knows what’s happened to him?

I wonder whether the fact that the Jets are overrunning Macarthur has anything to do with their old midfield of Brattan and Caceres against the younger Badolato and Adams.
Jets had them chasing shadows - no team can cover every player at any given moment and Jets had options in several directions. The instant Macarthur tried to put pressure or numbers somewhere Jets changed the point of focus then had another change of focus again.

Macarthur, especially with their old legs as you say, had no chance to stop the first pass, ran to the second and found the ball already gone to a third or fourth player.

They were largely grasping at water - as would most teams until they work out the patterns and where the weak links are.

I would go so far as to say the options available and the team working for each other reminded me of Ange. Always options open and players off the ball working their butts off to get into space just to be an option.

You have to be bloody fit and injury free to maintain that game in game out.

LOL @ those Sydney FC penalties, Kids these days are watching to much of Bruno Fernandes
and how sweet Bruno's pen was :)
Those 2 sfc pen fails were pretty damn ugly, wtf 22 thinking he's a seasoned Pro with that approach !
Worse the seasoned Pro Lolley that was shockingly bad as.

I reckon reasons why both Australia Cup semi finals are held this weekend.

because both NPL VIC sides (Heidelberg United & Avondale FC) have this weekend off in NPL Victoria finals.

And didn't have much of a choice tbh probably be fact NPL VIC grand final is scheduled (was on initial semi final weekend dates).

Also other factor Football Australia wanted to take full advantage with AFL pre finals bye into account for both semi finals in Melbourne as well common sense unlike last year one of semi finals was against Geelong v Brisbane preliminary final.

Yeah i get it regarding the dates as its the smart thing... its regarding how avenger all of a sudden its good enough as a venue?

Also during yesterday’s game Ben Homer said during the Newcastle-Macarthur tie that semi finals were bringing it forward because both NPL Victoria teams have the week off.

Otherwise it would have clashed with the NPL Victoria grand final on Sunday September 14th at Lakeside Stadium correct decision has been made.

There’s a bit of discussion happening on the Jets forum about the future direction of the site, one poster mentioned this forum as the “replacement” for the old Inside Sport one that I hadn’t visited in years so thought I’d give it a look.
That's cool. So I just had a look at the thread "Site/Foz upgrades" and yeah if you guys like you can definitely migrate if running a xenforo forum is too costly and if you don't mind conversing with fans of other clubs.

You can see Lolley's English cricket background coming through - he got caught in slips so many times...

Who said cricket and football don't belong in the same forum!
