2025 Australia Cup final rounds thread

The gap has narrowed between the leagues. It will still be a cold day in hell before pro/rel or even playing in the same league occurs.

I always think the cupsets in the first round are a bit ho hum. ALM sides basically putting in academy sides plus a few just days back in training first team squad. Later in the pre-season like this it is really impressive but really with John A it was always on the cards.

A League sides have been training since July. Wanderers had a full side and Heidelberg made them look like chumps. And now this at 4-0. I ain't buying the excuses.

Still pre season for the A league teams, and you can certainly tell, with the lack of effort.

Remember it is only one league difference, not three or four. But, well done and well played Heidelberg.

That was my point - RD 32 often starts a week after teams are back and recruitment hasn't started for the ALM teams so you can understand an upset or two. 4-5 weeks later no such excuses.

This is the best argument for p and r I have seen. Wellington deserve punishment for this and Heidelberg deserve to be praised
On merit, yes. But could they survive with just 1,500 turning up? That's the big question. Probably need at least double that.
