2025–26 A-League Women — regular season matches

Heather Hinz concedes a penalty for Sydney FC in the 90th minute after a foul in the penalty area, with Mary Stanic-Floody subsequently missing the penalty as it hits the left post.

Canberra United defeated Sydney FC 2-1 in their A-League Women matchday 16 game courtesy of goals to Bethany Gordon in the 13th minute and Mary Stanic-Floody in the 86th minute. The result sees Canberra United move to third on the ladder with their seventh win of the season, level on 24 points with Wellington Phoenix but with inferior for and against, whilst Sydney FC remain in wooden spoon position on 12 points, three behind Western Sydney Wanderers.

Roar, Jets, Nix, Victory and Mariners next. We are so fucked, and probably will be next season too.

Melbourne City came from behind to defeat Brisbane Roar 5-2 in their A-League Women matchday 16 game, with Rebekah Stott, Holly McNamara, Bryleeh Henry, Deven Jackson and Aideen Keane all scoring for the home side, and Kijah Stephenson scoring a brace of goals for the visitors. The result sees Melbourne City regain top spot on 26 points, two points clear of Wellington Phoenix and Canberra United, whilst Brisbane Roar are fourth on 22 points.

Holly Mac also regaining top spot in the race for the Golden Boot outright after scoring her twelfth goal of the season, surpassing Annalise Rasmussen, who will forever remain on 11 goals after being transferred to Juventus midseason.

What would happen if us Sydney FC fans stopped going to games (i.e pull a Sheffield Wednesday)? Would the team finally wake up? Cause social media promos don't always win trophies, look at Arsenal.

Chelsie Dawber and Adriana Taranto subbed on in the 60th minute for Adelaide United, replacing Emily Condon and Isabel Hodgson respectively.

At this point I just want Wanderers to lose every game and get the spoon so we don't.

It’s not looking good for FC but , really , it’s in their own hands. Maybe not making the finals again will shake the hierarchy out of their slumber. Then again maybe not.😲

Alvina Khoshaba and Cushla Rue coming on in the 69th minute for Western Sydney Wanderers, replacing Ena Harada and Yuan Cong respectively.
