2025-26 A-League Women — finals series matches

Holly McNamara making her return to play for Melbourne City after missing their last match of the Dub home and away season with concussion, along with Caitlin Karic who returns from her minor hamstring injury. Melbourne City also welcome back Shelby McMahon, Danella Butrus and Alexia Apostolakis to the playing list for the first leg of their A-League Women semi-final from representing the Young Matildas at the under-20 Women's Asian Cup in Thailand, but will be without Kaya Jugovic, Keira Sarris and Izabella Rako who are with the Junior Matildas at the under-17 Women's Asian Cup in China which gets underway this week. Chinaza Uchendu is unavailable for Melbourne City also as she is still serving her suspension of multiple matches following a straight red card for violent conduct in matchday 20 of the regular season.

Melbourne Victory are heading into the second week of the Dub finals series with an unchanged squad, but are still without the injured Zoe McMeeken, along with Brisbane Roar who have not made any changes to their playing list either. Wellington Phoenix are welcoming back Lara Wall from her injury as well heading into their debut A-League Women finals campaign.

I'm keen for the Melbourne Derby, my mother will be there in person, but unfortunately I had other plans this weekend that don't allow for a trip to Victoria. Interestingly the A-League app suggests this will be airing on 10 drama as well as the regular channel 10 (or is it the streaming platform?) and Paramount+ lol

Curiously/unfortunately it seems the other semifinals matches are Paramount+ only though :/

The Melbourne Derby semi-final first leg will be broadcast on 10 Drama in addition to the Network 10 streaming platform and Paramount+ because the Network 10 main channel is showing the Big Blue A-League Men elimination final which is game two of the doubleheader with the Dub semi-final, and for the other semi-final first leg between Brisbane Roar and Wellington Phoenix you'll be able to catch it on the Network 10 streaming platform also as opposed to it being exclusive to Paramount+.

Chinaza Uchendu will miss the rest of A-League Women season 2025-26 for Melbourne City due to suspension as she is currently serving three matches after receiving a straight red card for violent conduct in their matchday 20 game against Western Sydney Wanderers, with Football Australia imposing an additional one-match suspension for an offensive gesture made upon leaving the field of play which means that she'll miss the Dub grand final should Melbourne City qualify.

Should be a great game! I reckon City will get the win (even without Chinaza Uchendu).

Oh dang, that's a shame about the extra suspension. I was actually there at the game and right behind the left corner where the incident happened (hiding from the sun lol) and actually missed most of it because I happened to turn away for a second, but I watched most of her walking off and didn't notice any gesture - but I wasn't exactly paying attention to that sort of thing 😅

Fairly even so far, but City have been just on top with the posession.

I feel for the Victory player (Grady I think it was) with the bad shoulder, that sucks, but she's been doing really well regardless.

The goal was a surprise in how it flew past everyone, only clipping the outside of the keeper's arm, but I'm certainly not complaining.
