2025/26 A league season

There you go well said Sharkman.
Australia is NO leader re public transport right around the country just that it’s worse in Syd Melb due to the major pop living in the 2 main cities.
Travel round the world some places are brilliant some are no better.
Not a major issue how a city and planning rolls and sure isn’t a reason why you don’t live in xyz.
I’m also not sure how any low salary earners can live in well to do burbs - again another normal scenario world over.
Japans public transport is unbelievable
Munich too

Ex Sydney-sider here and the public transport up there being abysmal is symptomatic of Australia as a whole.

I moved to Adelaide a decade ago and while I love it, the public transport system down here makes me wonder what the fuck I was whingeing about in Sydney.

Adelaide Metro is hot trash.
At least the public transport in Australia is affordable and also government run.

Try the UK where they privatised the shite out of it, and the prices are extortionate.

Some examples of my last trip, Euston to Stratford (WHUFC) 14gbp Return on the underground.

Wigan to Glasgow 74gbp return for a two and a half hour each way trip.

I found cheaper flights return to oslo from glasgow than the train from glasgow to edinburgh

Public transport was privatised in Victoria in 1999. Still similarly priced to other Australian major cities though. Myki system sucks though compared to alternatives available.

Melbourne’s public transport (trams mainly), is a lot better than Sydney’s IMO.

In that respect, we are luckier than most of the world with FTA presence.

For those interested in this seasons ticket prices for all clubs.

Was quite surprised to see that the membership ranges from about $10-15 game (Adelaide, MacArthur, Mariners, Roar, Perth, Newcastle) to $25-28/game (Sydney, Wellington(!), Auckland, Victory).
