Based off the live rankings, this should mean the fixtures are:

Match 1: Nigeria v Gabon
Match 2: Cameroon v DR Congo
Match 3: Winner Match 1 v Winner Match 2
Winner of Match 3 qualifies for Intercontinental Playoffs

Couple of the goals in that South Africa v Rwanda game were quite special.
 
Big day with Nigeria playing Gabon and Cameroon facing DR Congo. Hope for some upsets.

I'm surprised like you though - i saw 52% predicted Cam win.
Nigeria looking good 4-1 - all goals coming from 78m mark - would have been hoot of a finish.
 
CAF seriously cut-throat. Gambia with 8W-1D-1L from 10 games to finish top of all second place finishers, then draw at full time with Nigeria in a sudden death play-off only to then lose in ET, and that's it for them!

I'd have to run the numbers but the ought to have larger groups with the top 2 qualifying or something or other. What's happened is the tier B sides are now on a big run such as Cape Verde and even Mauritania last AFCON that the big nations are getting chipped away at. North Africa cruised by. Mali were pot one and ended 3rd or 4th.

There’s 54 nations and 9 spots, so 9 groups of 6 makes the most sense for there - the only thing that’s made it convoluted is the dropouts and playoffs
 
Good to see DRC go through. Someone a bit different. They'll be so battle hardened after the CAF campaign. They'd surely absolutely destroy New Caledonia!

Seeding in the 2 ICP groups will be tight between CONCACAF, CAF and AFC teams.

Of the unseeded teams it would likely be much easier against NC than Bolivia, if a CONCACAF team gets seeded then NC and Bolivia may get drawn into the same group as the 2 unseeded teams.
