General A Leagues thread (Men and Women) 2025/26 season

Nice promotion from a brittish guy

Thanks a lot for the share mate! Too many crappy attitudes to the A-league in the UK when if people gave it a real chance I think they’d love it.

I’ve noticed a bit of a shift recently particularly with fans of Championship & Scottish Premier teams (Portsmouth, QPR, Wrexham, Hearts etc) Hopefully that continues but I’ll always sing its praises. Can’t wait to get over and visit as many stadiums as possible.

Looking forward to the Aus championship starting up too!

welcome to the forum and we love the positivity - our game here gets a lot of negativity so its nice to hear an outside perspective

I would have thought that the A-League would have attracted a little niche When Saturday Comes reading hipster demographic to it's UK support audience....

It's certainly got that kind if vibe about it. I reckon the WSC reading hipsters would or will love the Australian Championship too.

Official A-League fantasy died season before last, probably part of the big APL budget cuts

There has been Sportsdeck running unofficial comps for a long time but that seems to be done too as its been transitioned to Supercoach, and it doesn’t seem like there will be an A-League Supercoach

There is World Fantasy Soccer which will be opening soon, its basically in FPL format if you’ve ever played that https://worldfantasysoccer.com/season/20174
This has started if anyone wants to make a league?

https://aleagues.com.au/news/a-leag...l-premier-league-eredivisie-ligue-1-fixtures/

A-League Men ranks fifth out of fifty-five competitions worldwide for percentage of minutes by players aged 21 or younger with 22.2%, ahead of the Big Five European leagues.
Interesting if you look at the leagues around us you see that the number of youth minutes we give shouldnt be an aberration, we arent this massive outlier as leagues much stronger than us are posting similar numbers

So Mark Jackson walked out on the CCM, heard he asked for more money but the club said no. Rumor is if they cant find a coach in time for the start of the season Matt Simon will take up the roll until they can find sum1. Club is def spoon bound - they also got smashed by the Nix in there last preseason friendly.
