Asian Champions League 1 and 2 thread

Full time in the Melbourne City v Vissel Kobe game, Melbourne City lose 1-0 and are now bottom of group A, winless after two matchdays. Next game maybe easier for them with Buriram United at home.

We won 27 percent aerial duals....thats pretty low

DId ok until the cruel meme falcon goal

Ah well, decent performance and good experience for Shillington, Schriber, Rahmani, Beckham Backer, Gerald and Durakovic.

This performance shows ALM clubs are more than capable of competiting in Asia even with such a depleted squad that City sent. It took a lucky ricochet for a J-League side to beat half a City youth team in Japan.

You kind of wonder how we would have done will tilio Maclaren leckie etc ehh something needs to change
That's what happens though - our teams don't have the depth and continually get gutted each season. The Mariners side that qualified lost
Torres, Vukovic, Barcellos, Reec, Hall, Balard, Nisbet & Farrell

I thought that Kanamori played a lone hand in the first half with none of the forwards offering much assistance. Rashani did not offer much either when he came on. Scheibrer and Shillington will have AL or lower league careers. And I am developing question marks on Duracovic.

Has City got any players up their sleeve or is that the team for this year, maybe need a few washed up Manchester players

Macarthur 2-0 up against Beijing Guoan in the second half of their AFC Champions League Two game, with Tomislav Uskok doubling their lead in the 58th minute to add to Ikonomidis' goal in the 4th minute.

If Malaysia really did use fake papers for those foreign players, could that mean they lose their ACL and ACL2 spots? Pretty sure the AFC requires clubs to be under a federation in good standing with legit player registrations. Three of the players in question are from Johor DT, which would make their registration invalid.

You'd expect that to be the case and possibly Malaysia gets suspended for Asian competitions in the future especially after what's transpired.

These matches always sneak up from nowhere. City tomorrow night, Bulls on Thursday night.

If City don't get 3 points here they should just pack it in and withdraw, it's AFC heritage to do so!
