I thought it would be fun to have a thread to discuss our various rivals in world football.
 
Canada has announced it's squad for friendlies in September. It might give us an idea what we can expect in our upcoming friendlies. Strong squad but not full strength.

Japan seems to be having some issues with injuries with their overseas players also. I wonder if they have the same adjustment issues we experience when our guys head to Europe. That'd be interesting because they play more football than us.

I honestly want to see Iran get a group with fewer ME teams. They're undoubtedly decent but I think their size in the ME makes the regular opponents submit too easily.

A group with Japan, Uzbekistan Indonesia, China and Thailand would be very different for them.
 
USA squad v Japan - should give us an idea what to expect for our friendlies.
