These guys need to maintain their professionalism. If they're truly that good then take the hit and prove it at a lower level. There are some that get babysat and bought by another club despite their tantrums and that's just asking for trouble. Kalvin Phillips and Jack Rodwell spring to mind.
That's why I'm not completely against Jake Hollman going to League 2. It's only a level below where he deserves, and he will be afforded more time on the ball while he adjust to the different conditions and playing style in England.

I mean to be fair Robertson has stood out in some way or another at almost every club he's played for bar City...and even then he was a stand out for the U21s at the time.

I don't think he's been overrated at all - he has a skillset that we don't have many of in the NT and if fit, firing and committed I think would be hard pressed to not be one of our better attacking minded central midfielders.

No reason why he can't become some form of a Mooy type in the next 5 years.

EFL opener probably a bit early for Hollman this weekend.

Agree. Robertsons fine. His only issues have been injuries, choosing Cardiff and bailing on the National Team.

Farrell and matthews starting

Interestingly there is a glover as a trialist on the bench....not a gk are they?

You'd think there'd be at least one thing on twitter if it were Tom. Nothing tonight. Only Glover is some guy at Barnet on the wing having a good game. Curious...

Luongo started in Millwall game against Sutton. Nice to see Millwall got Doughty from Luton. They'll link up well. Quality left back. With the way Shaw was carrying on he'd have been the better option for England last Euros.

Confidence is a two edged sword. On the positive we transitioned to small sided games and deck football really quick compared a football nation like scotland who are also trying to change

3) although you were taught variations of 433, indicating the material was probably fine, aloisi and my cohost were both told off for doing variations of 433 (even 4231). Even if the official curriculum is fine, this might be a consequence of an authoritarian rather than a consultative approach
4) hans underemphasized isolated training in contrast to some top academies that believe it is needed at times

I Suspect a lot of this could have been avoided with a different leadership style from hans and the fa

You've certainly gained some insights, Grazor.

It was an authoritarian regime, but there were so many naysayers and recalcitrants based on ignorance, who refused to change. One FFA staff instructor, Mike Edwards, also a Melb Voc women's coach, and NTC coach, contended people just don't like change at the time.

The 4-3-3 defensive midfield triangle, which is like the 4-2-3-1, but moving the wingers further forward in a line with the central striker, number 9, was advocated as a development formation. I think the 4-3-3 attacking midfield triangle was also advocated and taught. I might be getting confused with the KNVB?

The premise these formations was based on was that if players could adapt and familiarise themselves to the two 4-3-3 s and attacking midfield triangles, as a development formation, they could adapt to any others, that are less complex and easier to play.

Most people I've met in football coaching circles I've liked, but Berger was definitely arrogant.

Top SAP coaches said HB hadn't coached underage players ( only seniors) and wasn't as confident doing it, so behind the scenes he sought guidance. From info you've given me, he misunderstood the value of doing things slowly in terms of skill acquisition. By the FFA trying to make everything game realistic ( speed wise), immediately, it repudiated child development theory in children's education, like the esteemed Piaget.

Grazor often uses scouting reports. They are comprehensive and scrutinise players very closely and thoroughly, using an exhaustive range of football performance criteria.

I'm concerned JH going to League 2, as players I've thought to be inferior, appear to have gone to much better leagues in Europe.

Did JH's lack of muscular bulk count against him with English clubs?

I wonder why JH felt that he needed the move. To me it looked like he walked out on Macarthur and dipped his toes in Europe. Either he has been advised to go down this path, Macarthur didn't want him, or he felt his options were running out. In which case my response would have been to get a different manager.

So to the question, of the top of my head, it's:

2 EPL: Triantis and Kuol. They count as they're listed on the bloody fantasy site!

17 Championship: AMB, Glover, McGree, Silvera, Souttar, Elder, RBR, Matthews, Farrell, Triantis, Waddingham, Bennie, Pearman, Adamson, Burgess, Luongo, Irankunda

6 League 1: Baccus, Cahpman, Bilokapic, Robertson, Francois, Watts

3 League 2: Jones, Ogle, Hollman. Gilsenen registered as Irish. JRB released
cummins as well in L1

We overrated both Volpato and Robertson tbh.
Ahh no we didn't - Volpato in particular was good for Sassuolo last season & has had interest from other Serie A teams. I think he would be an upgrade to Boyle in a front 2 for the Socceroos, if Popovic keeps the same formation moving forward. Added to that, he'll be playing in the Seria A again this season. Robertson was one of Portsmouth's best players before he was injured (probably their best) & before his move to Cardiff. The Cardiff move was a shocker all round, but from all accounts, when he did start and play he was good. In my opinion, he would be an upgrade from O'Neill/ Yazbek as he's far superior with the ball at his feet, control & passing ability. As someone mentioned previously, he could easily play the "Mooy" role for us, as he can play anywhere in the midfield. Obviously it's just frustrating for everyone, that we didn't see them in a WC qualifying squad

Robertson sure as hell needs to get out of Cardiff asap. His trajectory has been relentessly down from fringe Prem League, Championship, now League 1. It doesn't exactly shout potential or achievement.

Yeah that was because Cardiff were mince last season - as I said, it was a shocking decision to sign with them, especially when every man & his dog loved him at Portsmouth. Surely there's still some interest in signing him from a few Championship teams?
A FotMob season rating of 7. 3 goals & 3 assists as a #8 for the worst team in the Championship last season says to me potential

Cardiff fans couldn't believe they got him. He's the standout. Continental move would be good.
