NPL 2026

You cant have Tevere,Cuba and Kubilay in the same starting line up. One needs to come out for a Tommy G type of player. Zinni is just a one trick pony. Bonada goes missing 3 out of 4 times. Ali is not going to get better hes past his best.
 
We needed Preston to win today to avoid Oakleigh in semi final.

Not sure if we can beat them with a weakened team, as we will clearly be focussing on the Aus Cup semi.

I believe we could have beaten Hume with a weakened team.

Then again what sort of team would we put out for the GF? The Aus Cup semi final has compromised our NPL season

Well we had about 30 shots and dominated them.

In any case tomorrow is kinda our npl grand final. I agree if we win we wont send our best team to Oakleigh, guarantee a Retre type wont be risked and we will see the Lackay and Messourouni types played.

Oakleigh v Avondale gf looks like a good bet.

I know we dont want to lose against any of these teams but the cup semi is our biggest game in 22 years. Thats the one.
 
Feel a lot better that our potential game vs Oakleigh is on a Friday night instead of Saturday. Could feasibly see close to full strength for both that game and the semi final

Sinisa has stated that it is the club’s priority to win the Australia Cup.

However, I still think Sinisa will play a very strong lineup against Oakleigh if we knock out Heidelberg. It is a 4 day break between the NPL semifinal and Australia Cup semifinal. The players are accustomed to playing every 3 days due to the OFC Pro League.

The following is based on the assumption we face Oakleigh next Friday night:
- Retre is rested against Oakleigh
- Eliopoulos would come on as a substitute mid-match and play at least 30 mins to rest one of Jankovic/Ramazani.
- Lampard would start against Oakleigh meaning the midfield would be made up of Pasquali and Giannakopoulos. Nkwomo would come on for at least 15-20 minutes to rest Lampard. Menelaou would need to come on to rest Pasquali for the last 15 minutes.
- Cocks starts but is replaced by Mikkola in last 10-15 minutes.

The thing is the best way to manage the players and get the result won’t be to fully rest players, but get them to play at least 80% of the match. If we start fully resting players, then Oakleigh will win easily.

The real problem becomes the NPL Grand Final. We would have put in a massive effort to win 2 big matches. Question is - how much is left in the tank for one final push to win the league.

Got told today fv got their own press release wrong for the tribunal lol

Members only was meant to kick in after the tribunal decision but their media release said from next season.

Then they told the club you have to do it this week after a fair few had bought tickets
