Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

I'd say we should take Saturday very seriously now to secure the home final against Preston as we should be able to play our best team in that elimination final.
I can see Sinisa probably giving some players a rest. That quarter final would have been mentally and physically taxing on the players.

The positive news is that we have Lampard, Mikkola and Menelaou back from injury so we can rotate the squad with real quality.

Possible starting XI is

Charlston
Lampard
Jankovic
Ramazani
Painter-Andrews
Menelaou
Pasquali
Mesorouni
Mikkola
Lackay
Swibel

Bench - Lopez, Uchida, Yoo, Juach, Cocks, Skapoulas, Nkwomo, Retre, Giannakopoulos, Eliopoulos (if fit)

At some point we would need to make substitutions for players that won the Australia Cup quarterfinal.

Ok, this is what I was confused about.

I thought they started season with 6 point deduction, plus 3 point suspended deduction.

I assumed that 3 point deduction kicked in after the Lakeside banners.

So why have they lost an additional 3 points? I thought they had a further 6 point suspended deduction for next year.

They started the season with -6
Yeah i know they started with 9 and they took 6 ... 3 on hold..
Then they did their malakies and fv took 3 yeah? Was this reflected on table already or not?
Then tribunal took another 3 yeah which just went on....
Or were the two -3 the same thing and its only 9 points?

If it were not for the OFC Pro League and Preston's points deductions, both teams would be top 2 on the NPL Victoria standings. My opinion is that both South and Preston are the two best teams in the competition.
Could argue putting Oakleigh in the tier of Preston and South. Oakleigh should have done the double over Preston in all honesty. Don’t play the prettiest football but get results. Still, I share your opinion that South and Preston are the two best sides in the league.

Don’t see it with Hume despite what the table says. Think losing Calvar has really hurt them. Avondale haven’t beaten a side with a pulse all season.

Football is healing...

Just reading some of these posts has given me a bit of hope for football in this coutnry. For (I assume) Preston fans to be so graceful in defeat, to us of all teams, all I can say is BRAVO..

And strangely enough alot of Heidelberg people too.
Saw a few of them as well, known them a long time good ppl. As long as the trouble maker types arent there thats the main thing.

Also credit to Preston for going easy on its exhausted ticket allocation and allowing some unaware ppl to purchase preston tickets online at the gate but be allowed into the away end.

So when are South going to be in the A-league FFS?

I have lots of great memories from Albert Park. Make it happen
So we think south would prefer to be part of a home and away nsd next season if it goes ahead, or just straight to the a league. I’m still skeptical that the latter is a viable option, but in a hypothetical scenario
