Socceroos vs Brazil in September 2026

Seems like it's more an issue of being accepted by ASEAN rather than anything else.

There was a time when we were actually accepted into the East Asian Cup (I believe it was early 2010's, between the 2011 Asian Cup and 2014 World Cup)
Yeah. I was living in Shanghai at that time and went down to Hong Kong to watch the matches and also a Sting concert for my birthday.

Brazilians be bored as in Canbra - more than 30yrs late haha
“more than 30 years late haha”. I interpreted this to mean Canberra nightlife was great 30 years ago.

Great ? Who mentioned that.
If you didn’t know where the action was way back then I can’t help you :)

I was already living in Japan in 1997…….

My tentative squad in 4 weeks. Not sure what's up with Izzo. A local keeper for this local window is fine as 3rd. Not sure how fit Metcalfe will be. It's interesting how much thinner things look with O'Neill, Trewin, Italiano and Burgess injuries. The former two might be fit soon. We're stacked with replacement and emerging wingback and winger suitors. I think we have to get them in and have a look.

Ryan, Beach, HDM

Strain, RBR, Souttar, Circati, Herrington, Rowles, Elder, Adamson

Irvine, Okon, Robertson, Stensness, Balard, Devlin

Volpato, McGree, Irankunda, Toure, Younis, T Yengi, Bennie, A. Goodwin, Dukuly

Markus Walker is surely well suited to either RWB or RB, an area of concern, so I really hope conversations are happening behind the scenes. If Bennie is overlooked in this squad, I’m confident he’ll switch allegiance to Scotland—and while that shouldn't be the sole reason to cap him, his form over the past season fully warrants selection anyway. Robertson also needs to be in there, and I’d find a spot for Stensness to add to our central defensive depth.

Beyond that, I’d love to see some of our top young prospects get exposure to the national team environment, even if just in a training-only capacity. Someone like Marcus Neil or Dylan Leonard
could benefit massively from being around the camp.
