2 confereces of 11 teams...
Play each team in your conference twice -20 games.
Random draw of 7 teams from the other conference to make up the other 7 games.
Top 5 in each conference play off in a 10 team semi final system.

They might be able to reduce travel for some teams, NZ, QLD and NSW teams generally in the same conference.

Canberra, Melboure and WA in with Sydney teams- 9 Sydney teams.
Newcastle and 2 Sydney teams need to be in northern conference?

The 2 new teams would need to be in QLD or northern NSW?

Avoiding the Warriors needing to fly to Perth would be the plus. Games like that could be removed from the random draw. Same for Cowboys to Perth / Melbourne.

Any idea is worth exploring, but this is tricky to get right.

A team in SA is worth exploring, but that means another Sydney team in the norhern conference.

The 2-3 Sydney teams in the northern conference would be on a rotating basis.

A least a team would not need to fly to Townsville, NZ, Melbourne and Perth in the same season.

Sad to hear of the death of Sir Billy Boston, the former Wigan and Great Britain winger, who was one of the greatest British Rugby League players of all time who passed away this week aged 1992.

He infamously switched codes from the them amateur Welsh Rugby Union in the early 1950s which at the time made him person non-grata in Wales but went on to play nearly 500 games for Wigan and many many tests for Great Britain including several tours down under.

The first Rugby League player to receive a knighthood and has a stand named after him at Wigan's ground DW Stadium!

Absolute legend!!
