2027 Asian Cup

bookies do not favour us at all? I try to correct my bias but I reckon we have at least a 20-25% chance of winning?

🇯🇵 Japan~65%1.54
🇰🇷 South Korea~29%3.45
🇮🇷 Iran~21%4.76
🇯🇴 Jordan~8%12.5
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia~3%33.3
🇦🇺 Australia~1%~100.0
🇶🇦 Qatar<1%>100
🇺🇿 Uzbekistan<1%>100
Like England at world cups, winning the actual thing is far away. Actually lifting the trophy. I feel the percentages diminish because of how many obvious stuff ups can happen.

Wow. Im putting a bet on that!!
Reaching quarters or semis might have some decent value and a higher chance. England were around 2/1 to make the WC semis. It would've been stressful watching that but they got there.

I know someone who put 10k on Australia to win RWC 2007 at 8/1 and he was numb when they stupidly lost to England.

What is the source of those odds?

What typically happens is we won't pick the player then they're magically fit a week later in clubland. I agree however that any rash decision here is negligent. Behich it is...
I won't pretend to be an expert on these type of injuries but reports say that typically he would be expected to be back roughly around the time of the Asian Cup. I hope his recovery goes well and he is fit and available, but I would hate to see him rush back to play before he is ready and reinjure himself. As for Behich, it all depends on how he goes between now and then. He is getting on and doesn't have a lot of time left. I hope someone else emerges to put a bit of pressure on him and also to be an alternative to Bos in the future.

With Irankunda amd Volpato having emerged, Mcgree returning amd Younis and Tilio flourishing with their clubs, Metcalfe is less needed in the inverted winger roles and can be utilised as LWB, a position hes played many times for St Pauli.

Boyle will be compensated for missing the WC ahead of Younis. Popovic 'yeah we know he was disappointed with the WC so we felt here his experience would be invaluable and he was one of the few who really made a claim.'

Nice article which sums things up pretty well. I’d add Bennie in there somewhere too.

Posting here because it is relevant to the Asian Cup.
Was going well until Lachlan Rose was name number 26.

We have so much unexplored depth on the right side.

Defenders: Walker, Overy, Girdwood-Reich, Kutleshi

Midfield/Forward: Bennie, Younis, Chipperfield, Skoko, Sapsford.

I'd like us to take a look some of these guys over the Leckie, Boyle, Velupillay, Geria, Degenek types.

Super like!

For me the one that MUST be in the squad is Robertson. If he doesn't make the squad then Popa needs to have a psych assessment.

Elder to also get a shot ahead of Aziz would be appreciated. Also hope Yengi gets to start one of the Brazil games. He looks to be developing a bit later and with the huge frame might make sense. He's impressed every time I've watched him play.

Yeah Robertson and Elder are both at the top of my under utilised XI.

Spot on, we achieve nothing giving a spot just to sit on the bench with your Geria, Degenek types.

Time to lock some dual nationals away as well try uncover some gems, ala hiddink with Kennedy and Wilkshire, Holger with Kruse and McKay, Ange with Ikon and Smith.
