His strength is in teams that spend most of the time without the ball, even taking into account his cards of various colours. That's not Rangers. Factors such as potential trophies, wages, his age and McInnes probably swayed him away from making a purely football-focussed decisioE
Yep, 100% agree. That's why Rangers fans and pundits are unhappy with the signing. They all think he's too safe on the ball for a side like Rangers, who will play against a low block 9/10 times domestically and even in some of these early qualifiers.

Probably explains why he hasn't really had much of an impact for the national side either.

I feel like this is the main reason why Popa and even Arnold have never trusted Devlin.
Yet wasted a squad spot on him at a world cup but never in the cycle? He's not handling the Rangers pressure well but his Hearts form last season more than justified playing at a world cup and I wish he'd been in against the USA and Egypt to hassle them.

I just saw a stat that said that Portsmouth have 9 players on the injured list currently which is 3 times the second highest.

They also has the biggest injury burden of any club last season. Their supporters complain about the Australians they've picked up and being injury prone but it seems they're the ones breaking some of our most promising players.

The Hayden Matthew’s story is horrific. For his first injury, he seriously hurt himself during a game but because there were no subs left he was told to stay on the field and “make a nuisance” of himself. Surprise, surprise a long term injury and many more after that.

Three players on the cusp of national selection have barely played in 1.5 years. Waddingham is a huge loss of potential.

Remember how Arnie turned down the Charlton job and said something along the lines of the physio/medical being from the dark ages? Seems like that attitude is still around.

Was that Charlton or Sheffield United?
