The NSL wasn’t exactly thriving at an ideal level either.
 
A lot depends on how you value the league.

No idea but the sale of Perth, Newcastle n the Mariners if reports are correct were not that much.

Say 14 teams @ say 10 million each is 140 million... Then a third of 140 million is 46.6 million.

Strangely enough it could be in the interest of the league to reduce its value to buy Silver Lake out

Except no one ever claimed it was... the difference is that we knew what we were up against and never made grandiose claims that we would fix it all by excluding the rest, now AL uses the same excuses that we did and expects we swallow it lile nothing happened and they didnt fail... nahhh they were meant to fix it, admit u failed disband and lets get this pyramid in place with a second tier or just die off and we start from scratch!

Good luck with that. A large number (majority?) of people at South are tired of the goldfish bowl of the state league NPL Vic. Hence all the interest in the Australia Cup, Championship, OFC Pro League, and now the A-League.

Thsts the mentality we are talking about right there champ, franchise protectionist and exclusionist... none for the good of the game that you all like to claim.. otherwise the piortity of all would be to open the pyramid or atelast get a second tier sorted..

FYI i think im a little more versed in what the people at smfc actually want. Incase uve missed it, we want our team to play top tier whatever and wherever that is, but not at any cost!

If u have actual proof to the contrary, put it up and we can discuss...

Wonder how long before the APL goes bankrupt and teams end up under FFA control again

A large number of people at South are also tired of forever being disrespected by the Aleague. This feels like we are being used to help stem the bleeding of a competition that for 20+ years deemed us not worthy of joining....

and the irony is X supporters of their floundering comp having not wanted any ethnic club ever to join their vanilla one now welcome the thought/chance of SMH entering as a lifeline - 2faced SOB's.

TBH Im not entirely sure. Ofcourse I want my club to play at the highest level possible but my personal preference is to EARN our place there not be granted it or to buy it. But I am not deluded enough to believe I speak for anyone else, this opinion is mine alone.
