Guaranteed to be Tuesday or Wednesdsy night next week. No day timeslot available for this as both clubs play on the weekend. This isnt a football vic fixture so the no night time rule doesnt apply.
Thought I read somewhere the quarter finals are between 2 - 20 September, could be wrong though..

2,032 last nights crowd. All things considering with the weather and late start thats a good turnout.

We've had some terrible luck with home Australia cup games over the years, rainy against Edgeworth Eagles in 2017, delayed kick off against Sorrento same year, the wash out semi against sydney fc where Zappers on the sidelines got his umbrella and himself blown away lol, the big tie against melb city that got postponed cos of Covid and then became a covid restricted game, the 2 hour lightning delay against brisbane olympic, and then last night.

A massive congratulations to the loyal Freo fans that travelled. I gather, speaking to a few, that it was mainly friends and family but still, well don e to the travellers, safe flight home today knowing your lads put ona great show... All the best for the rest of the NPL finals..

It has got to the point that any time we play in the Australia Cup, I now expect torrential rain or awful weather.

I would just love a sunny 25 degree afternoon where we can have a big crowd enjoying a big win.

We got a nice night against Adelaide but they decided to put it on the night where every club and junior and Melbourne is training.

All things considering i think last night was more succesful, i was expecting about half of what turned up.

I was genuinely surprised by the crowd attendance last night given the late and unattractive kick off time plus the weather as well. What was more positive was the number of younger faces attending. That next generation is hopefully starting to buy into South.

This is something we can build on if we can host a semi final. If we can get through Brunswick Juve/Preston and likely meet Melbourne City, then the club should aim for a crowd that is in excess of 7,000. It would be in September, so you would hope the weather would have improved by then.

Anyway, lets focus on Melbourne City Youth this weekend. Need the 3 points to further solidify our top 6 position.

Not only were the young guys attending, but genuinely getting into it! Was awesome to see

There's been so many rain affected SMFC games that when I see you guys play in sunshine, it almost looks odd 😆

Your keeper did well to save two (or was it three) of the penalties with his legs. It's quite a hard skill to shift your posture mid-air to cushion and protect the ball... you see a lot of keepers allow those to bounce of their legs and trickle into the goal.

With 3 matches left in the home and away season, we need CS George Cross to defeat Avondale on Saturday evening to have any chance of finishing 3rd. However, its more likely we'll finish 4th.

We shouldn't have too many issues for Saturday's match given the players will have a 6 day break from the Fremantle City Australia Cup match.

I'm expecting an unchanged line up from Sunday's match. The possible changes could one of the injured players returning. If possible, we need to see Lopez and Lampard hopefully play some minutes this weekend in order to be ready for the Australia Cup quarter final.
