the missing quality and precision of Mikkola and Lampard is showing, Cox is a good intro player off the bench and can make a difference but he needs way too many opportunities to get crosses pinpoint as opposed to those 2.

The ratio is not in his favour as we saw last night. Different side altogether when they are back, fit and game ready, and more accurate serveceability to Juach both through open play and set pieces imo.
Totally agree. We are missing the quality of Mikkola and Lampard in the starting XI. It provides Sinisa with more attacking options if the match is deadlocked or we are chasing a result.

I cannot see Mikkola or Lampard ready before the quarter final. They will most likely be ready for either the Heidelberg or CS George Cross matches. It is encouraging to see that we will have Lampard, Mikkola, Eliopoulos, Menelaou, and Lopez back for the finals series. Those are massive ins.

Last night's match was just wild.

We literally nearly threw away a quarter final spot against a Fremantle City team that was just happy to make it to the Round of 16.

I thought we were pretty good for the first 30 minutes of the first half, and probably should have scored another goal as well. And then Charlston decided to have the worst match of his career by gifting Fremantle 3 goals. The first was a stupid and clumsy foul on the Fremantle player, the second he was caught in no mans land completely missed time his run out, and for the third goal he simply froze and didn't know whether to come out or stay back and literally allowed himself to be caught off his line.

The match should never have gone to extra time, as we had multiple scoring opportunities to win it within 90 minutes. The longer the match went on, the more confidence the Fremantle players had. They nearly even pinched it in the end as well.

Charlston then redeemed himself by pulling off 3 penalty saves. They were terrible penalty kicks, but that it did not matter. Just glad to get the win and move onto the quarter finals.
Youve gotta stumble sometimes.. thats football. I think Freo played their way into the match just fine.. Their plan was fairly rudimentary but it caught us on the hop 3 times, and almost scored the same way twice in ET... I put it down to not being used to playign against teams that are willing to give up so much of the ball to us and JUST hit on the counter.

We were pretty unlucky too, so many chances that would have ordinarliy gone in.... Still the first 20-25 mins was dominating, rtuhless football by us... We are a joy to watch this year when its all working.

No day timeslot available for this as both clubs play on the weekend. This isnt a football vic fixture so the no night time rule doesnt apply
Guaranteed to be Tuesday or Wednesdsy night next week. No day timeslot available for this as both clubs play on the weekend. This isnt a football vic fixture so the no night time rule doesnt apply.
Thought I read somewhere the quarter finals are between 2 - 20 September, could be wrong though..

2,032 last nights crowd. All things considering with the weather and late start thats a good turnout.

We've had some terrible luck with home Australia cup games over the years, rainy against Edgeworth Eagles in 2017, delayed kick off against Sorrento same year, the wash out semi against sydney fc where Zappers on the sidelines got his umbrella and himself blown away lol, the big tie against melb city that got postponed cos of Covid and then became a covid restricted game, the 2 hour lightning delay against brisbane olympic, and then last night.
