NPL attendance and viewers

It’s not the only factor but wanderers have struggled to make finals for a decade and always lose at home. it’s gonna have an effect on attendance. They still have a lot of potential to be the 3rd biggest club in the a league after Sydney fc and victory imo

and on another side note and this is no dig at the WSW. I live in southwest Sydney, the "heart land" of WSW if you wanna call it that. People are just not interested in the WSW anymore, they feel bored of the A-League, they stopped attending.

Whereas i have seen a spike in NPL football, im not talking thousands, only hundreds, but it's visible.

we only started to do that crowd counting clicker system this year.

last year it was basically off online sales and not taking into consideration gate takings and when under 16s is free.

Will keep saying it, the Australia cup is the best thing we have in oz soccer. And probably the most sustainable model too. The federation should really be going all in on trying to push it and build up the cup as the flagship comp/pinnacle/jewel in the crown of club soccer in this country. Such a unique thing in Australian sport too, the diversity of clubs on display and format should be a selling point/point of difference in the Australian sports landscape. And it’s a way of getting the sports massive participation base more involved in the game. I think it would also help and you’d get more interesting fixtures if aus championship clubs entered at the national rounds alongside the a league clubs if and when it becomes a home and away comp

It IS for the 99% of football clubs in Australia that are NOT able to break through to a division higher than their state NPLs.

Lets hope the Australian Championship becomes that top tier.
 
Its quite hilarious that the most popular/watched video ever on the NPL victoria youtube channel (x 4 times lol) is a u14 girls match...considering all the hoo haa by some fans that is quite ironic

All I know is that Youtbube streaming numbers are pretty decent for Aus Cup matcehs.

Because youtube splits live views & recorded views.

IIRC back then they only streamed on facebook so it's probably a copy of the facebook stream that's gotten views over the years.

There's plenty of regular NPL matches in the last few weeks that have gotten more views

Watched on YouTube as Paramount and Channel 10 are geoblocked. By the way, thanks for mentioning on the forum that the games are shown live on YouTube. What a great game and the right team won, must have been great watching it live.

NP, I only stumbled on it by mistake. Algorithm brought it up last week when, despite it being advertised as being on Paramount only, the other quarter final popped up on YouTube.

Live cup nights are always fun and the crowd was decent. It lends itself to another decent final series attendance wise for both South and Preston as they will be itching to get revenge... NPL VIC is really better off when all these clubs are firing on the pitch.
 
This is an appropriate comparison, the second tier of Aussie rules in Victoria vs the second tier (third if we include the Championship) of soccer in Victoria.

The strength of grassroots soccer as a collective beats everything else. I only hope the new bosses see this and finally want to work with it properly.
