Forget about full season - I agree with you. But I was pissed off with Celtic's arrogance when beaten by CCMFC saying they were months away from their last match and months ways from their last match.

The truth was completely different CCM were much more out of season, with both teams having played the last match of the previous season - the game was July 2, 2011.

Celtic's last game was the Scottish Cup on May 21, 2011 and there next game was Rd 1 on July 24, 2011 . i.e. 6 weeks into the off season and another 3 weeks to go.

CCM had played on the GF on 13 March, 2011 and their next game was Rd 1 on Oct 8th, 2011. i.e. 16 weeks into the off season and another 14 weeks to go.

Out of that group, only rigid came from the a league and dominated there.

The rest have had either decent times there or stepped up a level years after leaving (mooy for example)

Boyle never played a league

Celtic and Rangers in season are the outliers. They would beat AL opposition more often than not but the rest?

Falkirk vs Melbourne City?

Dundee vs Sydney FC?

I'd add Mooy to the list who did well (after a tough start). And I wouldn't call Nisbet a failure. He went to a dreadful team and an occasional lurk on the Ross County forum told me that the fans lamented the fact that none of his team mates were on his wavelength. Not one of the failures were decent Oz players. They were all chancers chasing a Euro dream and plenty failed for non-football reasons - mainly not being able to cope with the very different conditions or getting injured.
 
Scotland has the allure as a gateway to European football for our players. A more similar culture and mindset. The style of play in the league isn't good for anyone with technical ability as we've seen with Arzani, Kuol, Milanovic.

It also begs the question, what do Scottish clubs see in our players? In turn British players have come to the A League and overly complimented it.

If we can get a few more clubs and start in August it'll be good. Own grounds and relegation are the more distant goals.

The best outcome for Scottish football would be to integrate with the English structure. As a very small, poor country, going it alone will mean they remain an irrelevance. Won't happen though.

Celtic and Rangers would top the championship with the TV money theyd get, but thats another topic.

With their current squad, Celtic's ELO rating right now of 1749 is akin to an upper Championship side, around Boro's.

When Rogic, Ange and Mooy were at Celtic, their rating was around 1820 which is a lower prem side.

Rangers rating right now is only 1650 which is the lowest ive ever seen it and is akin to a mid, maybe below mid championship side.

Had to leave his Celtic bubble as early as possible to give himself a chance. When you see the family situation he had, you can be they just wanted stability and solitude. He'd have been great in the Bundesliga.
