2026 Australia Cup final rounds thread

It shows the gap between the aleague and the NPL is not that big these days, there is plenty of talent that are in the NPL system whilst aleague teams are playing more young players.

Overall it’s healthy for the game that competitions like the aus cup and aus championship can expose Australian players at the national level and that is plenty of talent out there to see.

The amount of aleague teams that look so unfit is pretty alarming, credit to South Melbourne they wanted it more than Adelaide United.

you do realise that pre season began for a league clubs barely 3 weeks ago?

this is exactly how they've made the cup a 'level playing field' with semi pro players (who have been playing for 3-4 months and in season) vs the professional players (with all the a league clubs less than 3 weeks into pre season and some have only played 1 trial match)

people assume these matches are easy for the professional players because they are professional players and dont actually have a day job, but thats far from the case
