FIFA 2026 WC - general

Might get some heat on here, but the blame shouldn't be on Trump or his inner circle. They are within their rights to approach FIFA (Infantino) about privatising/getting a slice of the pie. They're business people and they view everything through that lens (as well as power I guess these days).

This whole saga lies squarely with Infantino and anyone at FIFA entertaining the idea of carving off a slice of hallowed ground.

UEFA and ideally 1 or 2 other powerful confeds must unite to kick this creatin to the kerb.

UEFA will not be the good guys here. They will just be angling for more pie.

These fucking idiots in the USA genuinely believe people like paying more and have a song and dance and cuts to celebrities at matches because it makes it an event.

I think we all see its Infanculo/FIFA who need to get reeled in - more so hope enough pressure is applied and he's punted out but he sure has created a shield around him.
Interesting recent read below.

He's applying pressure to have this approved by Sept 19 by all Federations.
Dangling $'s naturally.
FIFA president Gianni Infanculo set a Sept. 19 deadline on Wednesday for the 211 member federations to approve his proposed private investment plan, which would give each association access to up to $40 million in funding........
Too funny this :
Infantino set out the "singular and unique funding opportunity" in a letter detailing why he wants to create a $20 billion FIFA subsidiary -- 20% owned by private investors -- that would run the football body's competitions and events such as World Cups and Club World Cups.

The proposal is backed by Thrive Capital, the investment firm founded by Joshua Kushner. Joshua Kushner is the brother of Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump.

"It is my duty and responsibility as FIFA president to present such game-changing opportunities to you, our members," Infantino wrote in the letter seen by The Associated Press.

Infanculo works like a swiss watch perfectly - great salesman no doubt about it - but its easy sell when dangling $'s as incentives.
Some may call it bribes :)

This is all so sad. We just saw the World cup & fully understand why this is the greatest sport in the world.
We also saw that Australia is a strong football nation, we just have poor administration & too many agenda driven people, we see how this damages football in this country & now we seeing at a global level.
They have no bounds, they taking this game away from us, first they have Qatar, then allowing Oil money, American hedge fund money & even tried Russian & Chinese monies, the Super league, the Hydration break & now FIFA wants to sell the world cup to people who don't care about football but just want to make money. SO SAD!!!!

The saddest are the bootlickers who accept it.
You see how greed is how we accept it, once people flash money around, football is no longer the priority, you see that at the top level with FIFA officials all the way down the grassroots with BS academies in this country.

- Banned a referee cause he was from a country MAGA don't like
- Overturned a red for his team
- Made one of the teams leave the country after every game
- 48 teams, meaning last round of group stage was shit and lifeless
- Visa chaos
- Price gouging
- Very questionable decisions on field that appear to favor certain teams
-Live anthems
- Half time show
- Ad breaks
- Fuckwit influencers

That is nothing compared to the UFC WWF bullshit we will get in the future

Dana White was complaining the production team sucked because they didn't cut away to more celebs. He will be running the production just watch

no doubt they can smell a easy payout bonus make's FIFA's ride easier BUT I hope they are spoilers at the same time, the ball is in their half lots to go down but I'm right behind them despite them also having their agendas, other Federations need to get behind this.
Question will be for some ? for eg our very own broke starving for $'s FA, who will they get behind one could ask ?
What will the Asian Fed as a collective decide ?

These fucking idiots in the USA genuinely believe people like paying more and have a song and dance and cuts to celebrities at matches because it makes it an event.
the billionaires only see ROI's/graphs that ticks easy money and see packed EU stadiums every week hence IF we can replicate this in the USA/Canada you name it easy $$$$$$$ !
Look how many started investing in EU clubs, a snowball effect.

Any nation that accepts this should run the gamut of supporter fury. Time to get two big stakeholders of the beautiful game, bookmakers and advertisers, onside with the biggest drawcard this game has, the passion of supporters.

Boycott all home games and attend the other sports that your club plays in. eg Palmeiras has a basketball team in NBB. Aris has volleyball/handball/basketball. Go watch them. Only go to the away games (the players need a little bit of love). That in itself will absolutely fuck the bookmakers as the home team component of setting odds is completely skewed because the main support will be away supporters. Make the bookmakers work for their fucking thievery. They will be on the phone to that kunt in fan GHOUL ohh giving him a healthy dose of what fucking for.

Don't watch the home games either. Let the advertisers vent their fury at this mutt money grub.

The soullessness of the stadiums during convid should be a gentle reminder.

NOW REPEAT AFTER ME.

FUCK YOU in fan GHOUL ohh.

Just my two bobs worth of ranting from the soapbox.

It doesn't take too much to swing the 20% or so additional vote needed by targeting Australia, Tuvalu, Guyana or Sri Lanka with a cash injection.

The logical conclusion is that the grassroots, especially fans, need to pressure their FA's and make their lives shit until they publicly guarantee they won't vote for this type of thing.

Infantino and the orange conch could not have done a better job of uniting and probably ultimately radicalising football lovers.

Fark the response from our FA is pretty limp dicked.

Am I wrong to have expected better?
all these responses except for the European ones seem to have been:

Look, we're not happy you didn't tell us before this came out in the media, so let's discuss and we'll get back to you

I hope the decision on who votes where for this is made public, so we can all boycott as necessary. It's a shame that now the one vote one country is being weaponised like this. Would a vote like this be less corrupt if the proportion your vote counts is based off senior World Cup performance? eg - nations that don't qualify get 1 vote, nations that do get 2, and nations that make knockouts get 4? Rinse, repeat and double up for Women's as needed. Would be interesting to make a table of vote percentage, etc based off this tbh.
