If Mexicans wear wrestling masks then it's culturally sound.

Craig Foster: "It will fall on the players, current and former, and fans around the world to protect their World Cup. For future generations. The game itself, not its craven managers, gatekeepers and profiteers, will need to collectivise.Without the players and fans, there is no World Cup. Nor a FIFA, for that matter. The real power does not lie in Zurich. It’s on the fields, and in the stands, of the world."

Therefore it’s time to stand up eh.
A call to arms !
I’m in - va fanculo to all who argue for it :) and for the rest of game before its turns completely into a fanfare 1/4 time show.

Some will claim heroism for being off the grid with a dodgy stick. The TV rights are funded immensely by the Asian and rest of the world market. I think if Europeans started leaving their clubs, the biggest will simply have more tourist day trippers. The local and original fans will simply be replaced by the wealthy masses, event and influencer types. A club like Hannover would be totally stuffed as I doubt many international people would want to watch.

Then again, would collectivising coming to the negotiating table be a way to sway FIFA?

NBL teams used to have sponsorship in their names. some German clubs do too but having some patron in the club name, no thanks.

Both the Football Association of Wales and the Asian Football Confederation have stated that they had not received any consultation about FIFA's plans to sell a stake in the World Cup and have raised concerns regarding the proposal

CONCACAF also said they didn't receive much clarity. Reports the CAF are warming up to the idea. Of course the broke corrupt mess that African sport is will gladly take money.

Czech FA stating they're on board with FIFA. I'll have to read the ins and outs of this but if confederations say it's murky and it's something from FIFA then it certainly doesn't bode well.

What doesn't add up is for the private ownership to make money, money needs to flow in also. It will probably make little difference if the current fans boycott. I guess the target is wealthy customers and sponsors. They'll simply replace the current batch. Besides that stripping the assets bare and paying out to owners. Yet initial information is that this FIFA program is to raise more capital in order to invest in the game and facilities around the world. The devil is in the detail and I'll have to read up on it or wait for good journalist clarification.

Well UEFA might get what it wants anyway with all their superiority moaning and how the Euros are the 'true' football tournament despite how stale it gets after the 4th matchday.

The only reason recent Euros have been particularly hyped is because unlike the world cup, they're in single, more accessible, affordable and culturally interesting places than Brazil, Russia and Qatar.

The worst part of all this is that we are talking about allowing private equity into the game. You know, all that superannuation money, laundered money and billionaire play lunch that funds unaccountable investment firms. They buy up businesses, they cut them up, sell off their assets, merge them, back load the bills and sack people so that they look like they are making money, and then sell them off for a profit before the invoices start rolling in. In return, you, the consumer get a worse service or product for a higher price and your taxes foot the bill for "market failures".

It's what the mafia were doing in the 70s and 80s only the mafia couldn't sell the business on. They just sold or stole its assets and let it go bust. Trump and the famiglia have upgraded.

And let me guess, when Infanculo's maximum term is up, he will manage this new entity?

the conditional funding offer to member associations — $40 million if they approve, $10 million if they don’t — “pure bribery.” FIFA has given nations a deadline of September 19 to decide.

lol, he doesnt even hide it anymore.
